Three days at the 8th Bangladesh International Marine & Offshore Expo have come to a close, and we're leaving with one clear message:

Bangladesh's maritime industry cares about its GHG emissions.

At our stall, we introduced the Eco Boss Cap by EcoNavis Solutions (UK), winner of the RINA Maritime Innovation Award 2026, to the Bangladesh market. The response was amazing.

Ship owners, shipyards, operators, engineers came to ask how it works, what it could save their vessels in fuel and emissions, and how it fits both new builds and existing fleets. These weren't passing questions. They came from people who want to act.

That interest says something important. Our industry isn't waiting to be told to decarbonise. It wants to lead, because it cares.

A heartfelt thanks to:

Day 1 at BIMOX 2026: Thank you!

What a start to the 8th Bangladesh International Marine & Offshore Expo. Our sincere thanks to everyone who visited the ShipDyn stall today.

It was a pleasure to welcome ship owners, shipyards, operators, fellow naval architects, students and industry friends, old and new. Thank you for your time, your questions and the many good conversations about new builds, retrofits, vessel registration and the future of shipping in Bangladesh.

We were especially encouraged by the interest in the Eco Boss Cap, winner of the RINA Maritime Innovation Award 2026, which we’re showcasing in partnership with EcoNavis (UK). It’s clear the industry here is ready to talk seriously about fuel savings and decarbonisation.

A big thank you also to the organisers for a well-run first day, and to our team for their energy and hospitality.

A floating hotel has to be a ship first.

A new kind of tourism has grown in Bangladesh over the past few years: houseboats with rooftop gardens, plunge pools, and glass-walled lounges, drifting between the hills and the open water of the wetlands.

ShipDyn has had the privilege of designing a fleet of them.

Guests see the garden on the roof. We see what sits beneath it - a hull with less than a metre of water to work with for half the year, a tall and light superstructure in monsoon wind, and a stability margin that has to hold when every passenger moves to the same rail at sunset.

What if a ship could carry its own air?

Air lubrication is not new. Several systems blow compressed air under the hull to cut skin friction, and they work. But they need compressors, piping, power and maintenance, and they are bolted onto a hull that was never designed for them.

The Y-Hull® does it with geometry.
