Setting up a CSW-H85F - The Sollae CSW-H85F, which is available through EasySYNC, is a serial-to-WLAN converter enabling serial devices (based on the RS232, RS422 or RS485 standards) to support TCP/IP communication via a IEEE 802.11 b/g WLAN network. It carries out the converting process with TCP/IP protocol, thereby facilitating remote control and monitoring activities. The unit is embedded with the IPv4/IPv6 dual stacks that help expedite the migration towards IPv6. An enhanced wireless encryption protocol function is also included in order to maximize security. In WLAN mode every WLAN station communicates through an access point (AP) so that all stations can be connected to Ethernet, because the AP is able to interface with both WLAN and wireline (Ethernet) communication infrastructure.

Prior to embarking upon installation of a CSW-H85F unit, it is necessary to ensure that a connection between the PC and CSW-H85F is established via serial and WLAN. When connecting an AP or WLAN adapter to a PC, the WLAN link is not automatically established. Therefore, its parameters should be set on CSW-H85F beforehand. To do this it is necessary to carry out the following steps. Firstly supply power to the CSW-H85F so that it become operational. Then change the serial configuration mode, press the function button or place the function switch to SET. Check the environmental parameters and open a COM port of the Serial tab on ezManager and press the Read button. Next set the same SSID and security options on the WLAN tab. In order to add or change the IP address of the network adapter click Windows Control Panel to get to the Network Connections section, then go to Properties of the Network Adapter.
