🚪 Would You Hold the Door Open For a Stranger?

Most of us would — it’s polite. But in the workplace, it can sometimes create a security risk known as tailgating.

This is when someone gains access to a secure building or area simply by following an authorised person through the door.

A few good habits help:
🪪 Make sure everyone uses their own access pass
🏢 Ask visitors to follow the usual sign-in process
👀 Be aware of unfamiliar faces
🚪 Don’t be afraid to politely ask someone who they are and close that secure door behind you

Cybersecurity isn’t only about what happens on a screen. Sometimes, it starts at the front door.

⚠️ SCAM TO WATCH OUT FOR: WhatsApp Fraud

WhatsApp is convenient, familiar and used every day — which is exactly why fraudsters are using it to make their approaches seem more believable.

Recent scams have involved criminals posing as banks, the FCA or compensation schemes, contacting people through WhatsApp and asking them to:
📱 Download remote-access software
🔢 Share a one-time passcode (OTP)
💳 Provide personal or financial information
🔗 Follow links to supposedly verify an account or claim

If you're approached unexpectedly, don't use the contact details or links they've provided. Instead, contact the organisation independently using details you know are genuine.

And never share a one-time passcode with someone who has contacted you unexpectedly.
