With AI search being so important in 2026, there are some claims that adding an LLMs.txt file to your website will get you a load more AI citations. 🤔

But unfortunately, that's not how it works.

LLMs.txt doesn't directly get you cited more in ChatGPT or AI Overviews. What it does is cut the crawl load on your site, so AI crawlers read more of your content properly.

More citations can follow, but only if your content was worth citing in the first place.
