We’re excited to announce that Metpow is one of just five startups selected by the Innovation Jury to pitch live at the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous!
We’ll be taking to the stage at Yacht Club de Monaco next Monday, as part of the Innovation Award competition.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to share how Metpow helps marinas take control of utilities, reduce administration and give berth holders greater visibility over their consumption.
A big thank you to M3 Monaco, Yachting Ventures and the jury for this opportunity, and congratulations to the other startups selected!
We’re looking forward to meeting fellow innovators, connecting with marina operators and sharing ideas for a smarter, more sustainable industry.
See you in Monaco!

A sunny bank holiday can fill pitches. A wet weekend can change boating plans. A cold spell can push up utility costs.

For holiday parks, campsites and marinas, preparing for changing weather means thinking beyond the forecast.

Our latest blog explores six ways it could reshape UK leisure, including:
- Helping guests book with confidence
- Keeping facilities comfortable in different conditions
- Making a longer season commercially worthwhile
- Protecting access to your site
- Understanding what drives utility costs
- Planning maintenance around weather and occupancy

From guest experience to everyday operations, practical preparation can give your business more room to respond.

What happens when guests can see the electricity they’re using?
At Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo in Pembrokeshire, it’s helping them make more conscious choices.
Since introducing Metpow across 51 pitches, the holiday park has reported lower electricity consumption and energy costs, with minimal daily administration.
Guests receive a daily electricity allowance, can track their usage in real time and pay for any consumption above it.
Swipe through to see how Folly Farm is making electricity use fairer for guests and easier to manage for its team.

Average electricity usage down by two units per night.
In Episode 2 of Metpow in Conversation With..., we visit Smytham Holiday Park to speak with Ben Harper about how guest behaviour is changing and what that means for holiday park operators.
For Smytham, electricity had become its second biggest cost after staffing. Rather than simply passing rising costs on to every guest, the team wanted a fairer approach that gave customers more visibility of what they were using.
Ben talks about:
- Why Smytham introduced smart metering and fair usage
- How changing guest habits are affecting electricity consumption
- Why reducing admin was so important when choosing a solution
- What the early usage data is showing
- The role technology can play in the future of holiday parks
- Why operators can learn so much by sharing ideas with each other
As Ben puts it, “It’s just fairer for everyone really.”

The UK holiday park and campsite sector continues to evolve.
British residents took around 103 million domestic overnight trips in 2025, with spending rising by 7% to £35.1 billion. The opportunity remains significant, but operators cannot assume demand will automatically translate into bookings.

In our latest blog, Rachael Middleton explores five trends that parks and campsites cannot afford to ignore:
• Value will be judged across the whole guest experience
• Digital convenience will become expected
• Utility management will become a commercial priority
• Sustainability claims will need credible evidence
• Climate resilience will shape infrastructure investment

The common thread across them all is visibility. Operators with a clearer understanding of their customers, costs, utility consumption and infrastructure will be better equipped to adapt and invest with confidence.
