It's been 2 years already! 🚀

In October 2024, I decided to go for it and start my own business.

I've learned a lot. But I'm not going to lie, it's been hard.

I got my first real website experience back in 2014, helping with Tiverton High School’s Joomla site, while I was an IT Technician there.

Fast forward to 2024, I quit my web developer job to take care of my children, and a bit of myself too. A little while later, I felt ready and started Charlotte Hart Web Design.

It's been a rollercoaster, but an amazing experience.

I'm so grateful for this opportunity, and thankful to everyone who's supported me. Especially my husband, Alex, for believing in me from day one and being my rock. ☺️

New website launch 🎉

Explore Via Travel needed a site where people could find Ski, Sail and Watersports holidays easily, book online and align with their environmentally conscious brand.

I designed and built a bespoke WordPress site, highlighting the three core products, with live online bookings and payments, and content the client can manage themselves.
I also set it up SEO-ready, hosted it on green hosting, all whilst keeping it secure, updated and monitoring uptime so the client can focus on the business, not the website.

A website I recently launched got mentioned on the radio! 📻

I listen to the BBC Devon John Acres breakfast show nearly every morning, so I was so excited! I even managed to get downstairs quietly to listen to it live, whilst the kids were still asleep.

Last Thursday, Patrick Currie got on BBC Radio Devon's John Acres Show to talk about his business, Naturally Bread Cakes . They pointed listeners to https://naturallybread.com, the website I recently built for them.

It's always a great moment when a client's business gets recognition like this. Congratulations, Patrick and Jenny. Well deserved! 🎉

Naturally Bread's site was full with content but hard for customers to actually use, cluttered navigation, no clear path to ordering. I designed a new website and simplified things to what mattered most and made ordering easy to find.

Almost immediately after the new website went live, an increase in sales happend. The client had a huge +2,400% increase in online sales and 140% more engagement across social media, in the first month post-launch alone.

It's rarely about adding more. It's about making sure the important stuff is easy for customers to find.

The problem with having a baker for a client...

"Let's discuss the website" with brownies is apparently how we do business meetings now. But they disappear fairly quickly with 3 kids, and Alex Hart in the house!
