SEO has been the acronym of the year for me, SEO stands for search engine optimisation and in easy terms means how well a website ranks towards the top in the search engines.

There are many rogue ways of getting a website to leap up known as 'black hat' techniques, but where there's a quick gain there invariably is a loss! The search engines are very clever and sniff out black hatters and their websites. Their punishment is severe, knocking the site in question way down the rankings or even worse excluding them from searches all together!

But White hat techniques are most definitely the right way to go and the search engines like them too. They may take more time to implement but the gain is far better and should be permanent for the website.

Needless to say I implement white hat SEO into my websites.

Hard work always pays off in the end!
