For the past year and a half we’ve been managing the social media strategy for one of Edinburgh’s most iconic hotels.

Managing content for a property isn’t just about posting pretty pictures, it’s much more than that. Are we connecting with the traveller? Are we telling the full story and what makes a stay with the property the right one ahead of those around it? Can I imagine myself staying there?

In a world where 75% of travellers are influenced on where to stay from social media, it’s imperative that we’re able to make an immediate connection with those discovering the brand.

We’ve introduced those on the hotels doorstep with our Meet The Neighbours Campaign, explored creativity showcasing The Artist in Residence series and celebrated everything that’s good about what’s on offer with a stay at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh.

This year we’ve introduced creator-led campaigns, working directly with creators letting them tell the story of this unique property through their own channels.

The headlines:

We’ve surpassed our own results from year one with a 105% increase in views.

A significant uplift in interactions (233%).

Instagram following up from 16.2k to 22.8k YTD

Of course none of this matters if the rooms sit empty however lucky for us, demand for a stay at Virgins stunning property on Victoria Street has never been so high 🚀.

The property is on course to achieve 5 million views by the end of the year & with the launch of the Spell Bound Suite and lots of exciting things happening into 2027, the hotel is in a great place going into the New Year.

All of this and I haven’t even touched on Commons Club, Eve or Tasca (more on that later).

It’s been great working on the stunning new Herbie More’s Cocktails & Kitchen at Hilton Edinburgh Carlton .

Long before Spotify and curated playlists, lived Mr Herbert More, the charismatic conductor of the Palm Court Orchestra at Patrick Thomson’s, Edinburgh’s much-loved department store, where the now Hilton hotel stands.

From beneath the grand domed ceiling, Herbert and his musicians provided the soundtrack to many a stylish afternoon, filling the air with everything from classical favourites to the latest popular tunes.

Now, in a nod to his legacy, “Herbie More’s” brings back that spirit of elegance and indulgence, only this time, the requests come in the form of expertly crafted drinks and cocktails.

MB Media delivered and designed a brand new website ( https://herbiemoresedinburgh.com ) and curated content that celebrates the history of this stunning space.
