I studied painting in London, Guildford and Hull. Since completing my degree course in Hull in 1974, I have had many one man and group exhibitions and my work has been included in many public and private collections of Modern Art. In 1977, I was appointed Fellow in Fine Art at the University of Nottignham and moved to Lincolnshire in 1979. I now run Riverbank Gallery and Studios in Spalding with m

y partner Helen Webber and divide my time between part-time teaching and painting. During the last few years I have been working on a series of large scale oil paintings of Edinburgh. 'JOHN GRAY'S EDINBURGH', the series of large scale paintings, drawings and prints is ready for exhibitionand will go on show at the Whitespace in Edinburgh from Friday 13th April to Thursday 26th April. This is the first time all of the series has been shown together, with many of the paintings being recalled from collectors.
