Cadpeople A/S WE CREATE POWERFUL VISUAL EXPERIENCES

28/08/2026

Ask an AI model to generate a wind turbine gearbox, and it'll hand you something that looks like a gearbox. It won't be your gearbox: wrong gear count, guessed bearing housing, decorative cooling fins. Convincing in a thumbnail. It won't survive an engineer looking closely.

That's the real risk of AI in technical visualisation. It's very good at producing something that looks right. It has no idea whether it is actually in fact right.

We never build technical content from a blank AI prompt. Everything starts from an approved 3D asset, built on real CAD data and checked against the actual product. Where AI comes in at all, it works around that foundation and never instead of it.

AI hasn't changed who's responsible for getting it right, it's changed which tools help us do it.

🐶🐶🐶🐶

Most of our work revolves around helping people learn and make decisions through digital experiences.

Which is why it's interesting that some of the strongest contributors to workplace culture in our Edinburgh office are entirely analogue… Four dogs.

While the team spends its days working with 3D environments, simulation, and digital learning, the dogs provide a reason to look away from the screen and engage with the people (and dogs) around you.

There's a tendency to think of workplace culture as something that needs to be designed, but often culture emerges from simple, repeated interactions that make people enjoy spending time together.

From left to right, meet Arwen, Normie, Cassie, and Manquito on a rare day when all four are in the office at once.

Trade show visitors rarely arrive looking for a guided tour of every feature; they want to understand how a system works in the situations that matter to them.

For Siemens at Rail Live 2026, the goal was to present their integrated rail system manager in a way that reflected how people actually understand the system in practice.

Using a scenario-based experience across two large touchscreens, visitors could explore realistic use cases while sales teams navigated the conversation based on individual interests rather than a fixed demo path.

Solutions like these can change the dynamic of an exhibition stand. Instead of simply presenting information, they create a shared space for exploration, helping visitors understand how a system behaves in context and giving sales teams a more natural starting point for meaningful dialogue.

We’re proud to share that Cadpeople has become part of RelyOn.

This is the result of more than 30 years spent helping organizations create engaging digital learning and communication. What started as a small Danish company has grown into a strong team of specialists trusted by customers around the world.

For our customers and partners, it is important to emphasize that this does not change who we are - we’re still the same Cadpeople. The people you know and work with, our way of doing business, and our commitment to delivering digital solutions and value remain unchanged.

What does change is the support behind us.

By joining RelyOn, we become part of a global organization with deep expertise in competence development and workforce performance. Together, we will have even better opportunities to create digital learning and digital communication that matter, deliver even greater value to our existing customers, and strengthen our global presence.

If there is anything you would like to know more about or discuss, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our leadership team. We also look forward to speaking with many of our customers and partners personally after the summer break.

Please read the full announcement attached.

One of the recurring challenges in the wind industry is that the technology keeps advancing faster than our ability to explain it.

Modern wind turbines combine mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and digital systems, and understanding how those systems work together is not always straightforward. As a result, building a solid understanding of how a turbine operates before hands-on training can be challenging.

That challenge sits at the heart of DigiWind, an EU-funded initiative that aims to help educate the next generation of wind energy professionals across Europe. As part of the project, we have worked with partners across industry and academia to create a digital learning platform where users can explore a wind turbine, follow the flow of energy through its systems, and learn through interactive simulations.

What makes this project interesting to us is not just the technology behind the solution. It is what happens when complex knowledge becomes easier to access.

While we typically develop training and simulation solutions tailored to individual OEMs and turbine platforms, this project required a technology-agnostic approach. Developing a platform and content that works across different turbine technologies was both challenging and rewarding, resulting in a solution that is significantly more scalable.

The challenges above are not unique to wind energy. Many industries are facing the same reality: systems and processes are becoming more advanced, while expectations around onboarding and training continue to grow.

If we want people to understand complex systems, we need to let them explore them rather than simply read about them.

Most digital platforms are still built on the same basic idea: that users should be able to find their way by clicking through a structure we have defined in advance.

That works well most of the time, but it also creates a certain distance between the system and the person using it. If something is unclear, the responsibility sits with the user to figure it out.

What we are starting to see with AI-companions is a shift in that relationship. Instead of asking people to adapt to the system, the system can begin to respond to the person.

And what makes it interesting is that it does not necessarily require more content or a complete redesign. In many cases, it simply makes it easier for people to engage with what is already there.

We wrote about this in our latest newsletter, where we explore how AI-companions are beginning to change digital training and complex platforms.

Onboarding sounds simple.
In reality, it seldom is.

We often meet companies that struggle with onboarding, both when welcoming new employees and when upskilling existing ones. Material lives in too many places, everyone gets the same user journey even though their needs are different, and it is not always clear what to do, where to go, or what matters most. And to be honest, it is often not much fun either.

Last week, we brought the topic into the Tech Hub Aarhus HR network, where Kristine shared how we have helped companies organise, structure, and sometimes even gamify their onboarding processes.

Good onboarding is about giving people information and helping them feel confident, included, and able to find their way through the knowledge a company has built up over time. Not everything is important at once.

It was great to discuss this with the network, because onboarding is something many companies want to improve, but few have truly made simple.

AI-Companions in digital learning and training

We’ve been good at structuring digital learning: content, navigation, learning outcome. But structure alone does not create learning.
What has been missing in some cases is interaction: the ability to practise, reflect, understand complexity, and get feedback that actually moves you forward.

AI-companions change that. They make it possible to actually work with the content, and in doing so, they lift the quality of digital learning rather than just support it.

AI-Companions do not replace actual people, they make digital solutions more useful in practice.

Claus recently took part in a podcast by Danish Industry, discussing something that is becoming increasingly relevant for many organisations right now: technological sovereignty.

The episode is part of DI Digital’s 'Suveræn Tech' series and brings together our Claus and Mikael Munck (CEO at 2021.AI), who share their perspectives on how Europe can strengthen its digital independence.

The conversation touches on a simple but important point. If we want to rely less on others, we need to build more ourselves. But that is not just a question of technology. It is also a question of mindset.

Because having the tools and capabilities available does not automatically mean we use them. It requires confidence, prioritization, and a willingness to invest in your own solutions, even when it is easier in the short term to look elsewhere.

The podcast is in Danish, but if you are working with digitalisation, defence, critical infrastructure or just trying to make smarter long-term decisions about technology, it is worth a listen.
