Hey friends, it’s been a while! How are you? I’ve missed our chats! 💕

After a much-needed pause, The Curious Wren has gently evolved into something new: The Wren’s Nest. A space that feels a little more like home for me, and (I hope) for you too..🏡

I’m excited to be back to designing and printing cards /prints (because creating will always be at my heart). But The Wren’s Nest will be something more; a mix of real life & creativity chaos. A space for sharing all the real bits, not glossed-over social media nonsense, but the honest, messy, beautiful stuff that makes up everyday life. ☀️

When I pressed pause on The Curious Wren, life was... a lot. We were halfway through a house renovation (we had no roof for several months), living with our parents during the extension, with two little ones under four — and then came a surprise redundancy scare. Everything felt very heavy. So, I stepped back into full-time employment to keep things afloat. I really enjoyed having a work family and the challenge of the job, but as time passed, somewhere between the extent of job stress and the beautiful madness of motherhood, I burned out and lost myself.

As hard as that chapter was, it taught me something important; I want to work with purpose — to create, to connect, to bring joy (even if it’s just through a card) and most of all — I’ve learned to do what I love. Life’s too short to chase the life you want instead of living the one you have. 🌿✨

So here’s to a fresh start and a new chapter! Welcome to The Wren’s Nest; a new space to not only share my designs but also home renovation updates, honest mum life, and the exciting beginnings of some side work adventures I have been exploring while feeling more like myself again. I can’t wait to share this journey with you!

The Curious Wren is back! & to embark on this new chapter I’m having a little rebrand✨

First things first though -hi everyone! Oo it’s been a while hasn’t it? So, it turns out having a baby & a toddler is harder work than I thought it would be, who knew?!!

How are you? I hope you’re all keeping well. Although I’ve been a tad busy, I really have missed making orders, designing & most of all chatting to you guys.

It’s been a whirlwind of (over!) a year. They say time flies when you’re having fun hey? Because it’s been a while I thought I’d fill you in to a few life updates (I always kept you in the loop with everything before so here goes);
* I now have a 4.5 child and a 1.5 toddler- Where has time gone?!
* We have since renovated our cottage (yep, again!). We extended out a little bit and popped a new roof on -not as simple as it sounds..
* Me & Mike did a lot of the interior building work.. which meant a fair few all nighters.. we went slightly mad during the 6 month process.. but we’re on the other side now, thankfully!
* Millie & Maisie dog continue to entertain us.. Maisie loves the children (& their food). Millie puts up with them but continues to go in a mood when one of them cries -I don’t blame her in the slightest & would do the same if I could.
* Primrose has just started school! Don’t worry, I kept my cool about my little baby being grown up & in no way had an emotional breakdown.. nope, not at all.

So, I just wanted to let you know I’m back! Back to designing/ printing cards, prints, wedding stationery, logos & branding. All with the personal touch I’ve enjoyed brining into my work. I’m excited to create new ranges & designs for you to pick from or like always, happy to create bespoke items. Like previously, if you’d like to order or enquire about anything, I’ll happily show you designs to pick from. There’s no obligation to buy anything after us having a chat (I quite like chatting to be honest!! As I’m sure you’re all aware of by now!). I’m excited to be back at my desk.

Hi everyone! Just a quick message to introduce you all to our new little family member (& the reason I’ve been quiet for the last few months!). Monty Alfred Johnson was born on the 10th February. We're busy settling into life as a family of four but I just wanted to share our exciting news with you all. 💙

Hi everyone, firstly happy new year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (despite covid still making things a bit tricky for us all!).✨

A massive thank you to everyone that supported my small business, over the Christmas period and last year. I appreciate it SO much and thank you from the bottom of my heart.❤️

It’s coming up to SIX years of The Curious Wren! Where has the time gone? It’s now also three years since I took the really hard decision to not renew the lease on the highstreet shop in Eccleshall. Three years ago we moved the business to my home studio and began the journey of juggling mum life with working from home. It’s not been the easiest of transitions and I do miss the hustle and bustle of the highstreet. However it has meant that I have been able to be at home with my daughter and watch her grow into the beautiful little girl she is today.💕

It’s now with great excitement that I can share the news that we are adding to our little family and are expecting Primrose’s baby brother next month! Therefore I will be taking a short break from designing. I’m not too sure on how long I’m pausing for but will be sure to keep you in the loop! After Primrose was born I was ready to get back to my desk straight away.. so we’ll see..💙

The count down to Christmas has officially began! ❤️

Have a special someone to send a card to this year? Personalised Christmas cards with names and a message on the front make for a really special send. For just £4.50 (which inc postage!) send a little happy post to the people you love. ALSO, for no extra charge, I will happily write a handwritten message on your behalf if you wanted to send the card directly to your friends and family. Or I can send to you to write.. something to make life a bit easier hey?!📮

I am also still printing Father Christmas letters.. however I am looking to have an end date soon for this to avoid any unhappy children!!! (The pressure of being an elf!). 🎅🏻

A morning of packing orders here today in my studio. I’m making the most of having an hour to do work while little one is at nursery.. she’s been poorly the last couple of weeks so it’s nice to work without having to say, ‘felt tips stay on the paper!’. 🖍

Hi everyone, hope you’re all keeping ok ❤️

I’ve been kept super busy with this little one & juggling work between.. she’s recently had a really terrible cold so we’ve been doing a lot of crafting to keep her entertained (and me if I’m honest!). 🖍

We’ve finally managed to book to see Father Christmas & so it was time to write the important letter to the man himself. (Red car and choo choo train on the list this year.. IF she’s a good girl!) 💌

I’m going to show her the letter from Father Christmas just before we see him (hopefully to break it to her so she doesn’t get scared of him!).. it’s funny how these Christmas traditions start isn’t it. I love the idea we’ll be doing this in years to come.. 🎅🏻

I’m continuing to make Father Christmas letter orders for a couple of more weeks but I’ll be making the cut off point to send soon as I’d hate to think of any letters to be late! (So much pressure being a Christmas elf!). Father Christmas letters are just £6, they’re bespoke to your child, are addressed to your little one and inc a good list certificate. All handmade here in my little home studio with lots of love. ❤️

I’m also taking on card orders and prints (not bespoke prints in run up to Christmas) so just drop me a message to order or make any enquiries.. 📮
