Is your Wi-Fi useless upstairs? 📶

You might be paying for fast broadband, but that doesn’t mean the signal is actually reaching the rooms where you need it.

This is a common one.

Your Wi-Fi may work fine downstairs, but upstairs you get:

* buffering on the TV
* video calls dropping out
* smart devices disconnecting
* slow loading in bedrooms or offices
* an extender that still hasn’t solved it properly

Sometimes the problem is not your broadband package, it’s the way the Wi-Fi is travelling through the property.

Is your CCTV actually recording or just showing a live picture? 🎥

This is one of those problems people usually only discover after something has happened.

Your cameras might look like they’re working because you can see the live feed, but that doesn’t always mean the recorder is saving footage properly.

Slow Wi-Fi at home? Try this before upgrading your broadband!

A lot of Wi-Fi problems come from the router simply needing a proper restart — especially if it has been running non-stop for weeks or months.

Before spending money on a new router or changing provider, try this:

Unplug the router, wait 30–60 seconds, plug it back in, then give it a few minutes for all the lights to return to normal.

It sounds basic, but it can clear small connection issues and refresh the network.

Still slow after that? It could be poor router placement, weak signal, an outdated router, interference, or the broadband speed itself.

That tiny delay between someone talking and the sound coming through can make watching TV seriously annoying, especially when the picture and speech just don’t line up.

Before assuming something is broken, your Fire Stick has a built-in setting called AV Sync Tuning that lets you adjust the audio delay using a bouncing ball and sound cue.

It’s a small fix, but it can make a big difference.

If you’ve tried this and it’s still not right, it could be linked to your TV, soundbar, app settings, or HDMI setup.
