✨ Fleurs de Villes - Florist Spotlight✨

Another of our lovely floristPro website customers Fabulous Flowers Team were invited to design an installation for the Fleurs de Villes DIANA at Somerset House exhibition.

The team created an installation titled Breaking the Stigma - paying tribute to Princess Diana’s dedication to challenge the misconceptions surrounding HIV /AIDS.

Preserved rose petals, hydrangeas , germini & carnations were used to create the jacket and skirt - giving it amazing structure & texture. In her outstretched hand she is holding the awareness ribbon - cleverly symbolising Diana’s willingness to reach out and connect with those affected by HIV/AIDS.

I loved the thoughtful details on this design, with the surrounding garden containing hand written names on leaves - honouring individuals currently living with HIV/AIDS supported by the Terrence Higgins Trust. This made the installation so incredibly personal, and reflects the impact Diana’s work still has today.

We are so proud to see several floristPro website customers being involved with Fleurs de Villes DIANA!

I had the honour of chatting to Lisa from The Gravesend Florist at the event, who recreated Diana’s purple Versace dress she famously wore to a Charity Gala in Chicago.

Lisa and her floral team had only 2 weeks notice to design, source and create their installation! And they pulled it off with show-stopping style 💜 the dress is made up of purple statice for the main body with purple Vanda Orchids making up the skirt - giving the dress a clever feeling of movement and texture.

I loved the little details Lisa & her team picked up to - her bracelet & necklace painstakingly made by hand out of gypsophila, berries, dried wheat & eryngium.

The flower meadow surrounding the dress is inspired by the logo colours of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, who were a main beneficiary of the Charity Gala Diana attended in 1996.

Huge congratulations to the lovely Lisa & her team for creating a fabulous and inspiring design - in only 2 weeks!

👀 Sneak peek at this fabulous floral exhibition in London .. what’s your favourite design?

Top floral designers from across the UK helped create 15 floral mannequins & installations, helping to represent Diana’s love for life, mission for change and fashion.

We loved seeing how the florists used their own creativity and attention to the little details, making each design so unique yet recognisable to the moment it captures in Diana’s life.
