Having difficulty ejecting a USB device?

Eject the Drive Using Disk Management
Disk Management is a Windows built-in utility that lets you manage all the disks or drives connected to your system. If you are unable to eject the drive using the ‘Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media’ option, you can easily remove the drive safely using the Disk Management tool. Here’s how to do it:

Go to the Start Menu, type in Disk Management and hit Enter.
Locate the external hard drive that you want to eject.
Right-click on your external hard drive and select ‘Eject’.

Note:
It is important to note that once you eject the external hard drive, it will appear as Offline. Therefore, the next time you want to use the drive on your system, make sure to change the status to Online in Disk Management.

Some users have reported that they are not able to safely eject their external hard drive like USBs etc. This issue is often caused by other processes

Here is some work I did on one of my customer's PCs earlier last year.

Repairing gaming PC issues such as you have installed a new NVMe storage drive and the other SATA drives are no longer recognised on the PC. Diagnosing and repairing issues with the PC not booting up or crashing. I can upgrade PC hardware and update BIOS to allow new CPUs to be installed.

Are you backing up your data properly? even though you may have files on the cloud, if you are accessing them directly from the cloud and they aren't reserved anywhere else either on the same clour or another storage folder then you are at risk of loosing that data should something happen for example like that file getting lost in transit while it is moved to another location or becoming corrupted because of a software bug.
