Being involved in boats, as a hobby, for the last 50 odd years it never ceases to frustrate me how a 30 year old boat can keep water out but a modern day 5 year old car can’t.
Every day we tackle the tragic results of poor workmanship in modern cars. It is frustrating, as one can only conclude that the faults are so obvious that they must be intentional and are designed to generate unreliability, costing the customer a fortune once manufactures warranty expires.

I wasn’t sure if this Q7 dash was faulty or old age had set in and I had gone cross eyed. Thankfully the fault was the car and not me. A new display fitted with 3 years warranty and a MASSIVE cost saving for the customer.

A friend just sent this advert from 1988, a year after we launched the business at our present location. The prices were good for those days but equate to mega bucks in today’s money. 9am to 9pm 6 days a week. It’s a miracle Hazel stayed with me! But we survived and still survive to offer our customers a top quality, albeit a diversified service.

39 years since the birth of Hobson Electronics. A second hand garage door and a couple of windows left over from someone’s unfinished project. Roofed using corrugated iron sheets.
1000’s of the most amazing friends and customers have crossed our doorway (plus just a few dipsticks)
Our first sales were cassette Walkmans. We have seen technology pass from valves to modern micro technology.
We now take for granted, things that 39 years ago , we wouldn’t even dream could be possible.
Our continued existence could never have been possible without you, our valued customers.
