A Fox Wot I Drew We are "A Fox Wot I Drew" - grammatically challenged games company, Dare to be Digital 2014 contesta

We are "A Fox Wot I Drew" - A games company comprised of 5 students/graduates from all over the UK, with talent from Oxford Brookes University, Norwich University of the Arts, and the University of Abertay Dundee. Originally coming together to participate in Dare to be Digital 2014, we soon became close friends and managed to create a prototype that was good enough to win us the "Design in Action"

grant. This money has allowed us to set up our own games company to continue working on our Dare title, "Baum", and hopefully be able to make games all day for the foreseeable future. Hello world! We just wanted to give you a quick summary of where we're at and what we're up to.

As we posted last month, we were fortunate enough to win some money from Scottish Edge. We've received this grant for our proposal to develop Baum for the Apple TV.

This is hugely exciting for us: it lets us release Baum on a new platform while also giving us the opportunity to make more improvements to the current iOS version. The game is looking absolutely great on TV, it showcases the beautiful art and sound of Baum better than ever before. We'll have an update on our progress in the next couple of weeks.

As for the iOS version, we're still working on an update to improve and add content to the game. We haven't forgotten about it!

Aside from Baum, we're in early talks with some amazing artists and creators for some collaborations that will result in some beautiful, interesting games. We hope to have some more concrete details on this front in the coming months.

We haven't even discussed taking part in the Dundee Design Festival, our Develop award nomination (ceremony is tonight!) and all the other stuff we've been up to. Hopefully we'll find time to talk about that before we forget about it!

With all the stuff that seems to be happening today it's probably time to give an update on our status and our plans for Baum. So here goes!

Since Baum came out we've been overwhelmed by support and congratulations. Making and releasing Baum was a crazy, twisting, journey and there's certainly things and decisions we would do differently with hindsight. But we're super proud of what we managed to do and we're really excited for the future.

Baum's release and our launch event was amazing to be a part of and to be featured by Apple in most territories was a huge accomplishment! We released our first patch which fixed some bugs that had crept into the game in early February and hopefully we'll have another (much bigger) patch ready to go by the end of this month which will add another level, fix some issues, make the game a little easier to play and change some parts in levels that were particularly tough (RIP Level 9 Tunnel of Doom). We've spent a bit of time working on our level building tools as well, which will hopefully let us make levels faster than we used to and get some more regular updates!

We continue to be very busy with contract work and other commitments which has slowed Baum development down quite a lot but we still have some plans in the pipeline that we'll let you all know about more.

Also, we got nominated for a Develop Award today for Best New Studio! That's crazy!
