A new addition to the Solway Print workshop! ✨

Our new ColorFlare CF2000 laminator/foiler is in action, bringing more of those beautiful finishing touches in-house.

Here’s Blythe, our junior graphic designer, showing off freshly matt-laminated cards for Bangon - the new offsite catering business by Thai Orchid, Dalton - and we are delighted to help bring their new venture to life in print!

A big thank you to Andy Livingston and the team at Plockmatic Group for their help and support.

New equipment, lovely print and another local business to celebrate. 💛

🏒 It’s all coming together!

Solway IHC’s new autograph books are almost ready for tomorrow night’s game.

Here they are going through one of our folding machines before heading to Meg for the next stage - collating, checking, stitching & packing.

From a flat sheet of printed paper to a finished autograph book… the perfect balance of machinery, experience and skilled hands!

Good luck to the team tomorrow night! 🏒📖

There’s something very satisfying about watching a job like this being made.

This is Craig, our litho printer, operating our Heidelberg foiling platen and applying gold foil to 270gsm GF Smith Colorplan.

It’s one of those processes where the finished result looks deceptively simple; but getting the pressure, temperature, registration and foil just right takes a fair bit of skill.

And, yes, we still love doing things the old-fashioned way when the job calls for it. 😉

Gold foil. Colorplan. A Heidelberg platen. And a very good printer behind it.

Sometimes, you just can’t beat the real thing.

It’s game day!🏒

Here’s Navid manning our digital press; printing raffle tickets we’ve produced for Solway Ice Hockey Club ahead of their first game of the season tonight.

Designed to approval by Navid, printed and numbered in one pass on pre-perforated sheets, which we perforated in two places on a bulk run through a Heidelberg GTO, before being trimmed & finished - a proper production job from start to finish!

We’re delighted to be associated with Solway IHC and proud to support them as they head into another season.

Wishing the team the very best of luck for tonight and for the season ahead! 🏒👏

😊 Print With a Smile

Printing isn’t just about machines, paper and ink. It’s about creating something that makes people smile.

Whether it’s a business card, a banner, a brochure or a beautiful invitation, every job starts with an idea and ends with something you can hold in your hands.

We hope this little video brightens your day as much as printing brightens ours. 💙

Meet Meg. 👋

You might only see her hands in this video, but every carefully collated NCR set passes through them.

It’s the kind of skilled, meticulous work that often goes unnoticed, yet it’s a huge part of producing a quality finished product.

Meg has been part of the Solway Print family for decades and always takes enormous pride in every job she works on. We think that shows. ❤️

At Solway Print, we’re proud of the people behind the print.
