Windows 11 update packs a bug that's making the lives of gamers a misery:

Bear in mind that this patch (KB5124010) is a preview update, then, but there certainly seem to be quite a few issues for gamers here based on some of the feedback on social media. These problems affect Windows 11 26H2 and 25H2 users, as well as those still on 24H2.

IF YOU HAVE THIS UPDATE PLEASE UNINSTALL IT IF YOU NOTICE ANY ISSUES

Please hold off updating to Windows 11 26H2 that started rolling out yesterday.
We've had a laptop today that will not boot up after the update and will not roll back :(

These are other known issues
(Mitigated) USB audio devices might fail to start or produce no sound: Some USB Audio Class 1.0 devices display Code 10 or fail in multichannel audio modes after installing the September 8 update.

(Mitigated) Domain-joined devices might lose their secure trust relationship with the domain: Some Credential Guard protected machine accounts might be unable to sign in interactively will valid domain credentials.

(Mitigated) Devices might experience a black screen or desktop loading issues after sign-in: Microsoft has received reports of this issue occurring in some virtual desktop environments.

These guys to awesome work. If you can contribute, you can drop off any old tech at Mobile PC rescue in Droylsden, and we will deliver it to them :)

We’re pleased to share that Tameside Community Computers CIC is now resuming its support work in East Africa.

To help us give this work the focus, care and structure it deserves, we have established a separate organisation: East Africa Community Alliance (please follow the page)

Following extensive meetings with organisations and community partners on the ground, our initial support will focus on communities in Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan.

We are committed to working alongside local people and trusted partners to provide practical support where it is needed most.

Items we urgently need

We are currently appealing for donations of:
• New bras, crop tops and underwear for girls aged 11–16
• Pens
• Colouring pencils
• Felt-tip pens

Sanitary Towels

We’ve struck a deal with a manufacturer in Uganda and can purchase Sanitary towels at £6.40 a box which contains 24 packets but we have to buy a minimum of 15 boxes.

These simple items can make a real difference to girls’ confidence, dignity and ability to participate fully in school.

Clean water projects

We are also seeking donations and supporters to help fund the installation of boreholes, giving communities access to fresh, clean water. Safe water can transform daily life by improving health, reducing the time children and families spend collecting water, and supporting schools and local communities.

Sponsor a child’s education

We are working with Vienna Vision Primary School in Amootom & Ngora in Uganda, and are looking for people who may be able to sponsor a child’s education.

• £102 per year sponsors a child attending as a day pupil
• £150 per year sponsors a child attending as a boarder

These fees include school and food.

There are additional costs for uniforms and school materials, so any extra support towards these essentials would also be greatly appreciated.

Every donation, no matter the size, can help give a child access to education, food, dignity and a brighter future.

If you would like to donate items, sponsor a child, contribute towards a borehole, or find out more about East Africa Community Alliance, please send us a message or call us on 0161 553 0060.

Thank you for supporting our work and helping us make a meaningful difference in East Africa.

Guys, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE educate your parents, grandparents, friends etc about scams and how they work!

IF ANYONE YOU DO NOT KNOW ASKS YOU TO INSTALL A REMOTE PROGRAM, IT IS 99% LIKELY YOU ARE ABOUT BE SCAMMED.

Microsoft will NEVER call you.
Your BANK will NEVER ask you to move money to another account, and NEVER give anyone the PIN that gets text to you if you ate on the phone, the bank will NEVER ask for this, only scammers will!

BT, Virgin etc, do not need access to your computer. (or very rarely)

If you are asked to install any program, question them, and always call the numbers on your bills and receipts, never trust what you get in a text, it could be from anyone!

I'm working on an old couples laptop after they phoned me this morning crying because someone scammed them, after getting them to install remote access software, the scammers also added more access without their knowledge.

It is really important that we EDUCATE those we feel may be vulnerable and ensure they understand how it works.

Sign up to my blog for more information and updates, I'll be doing a more in-depth post soon.

HERE WE GO AGAIN!

So, last week the updates screwed up sound cards and printers and now it the actual BIOS, this is on HP Laptops which also happened a few months back, it's just not good enough!

Windows 11 KB5121003 allegedly corrupts BIOS leading to install fails on HP systems. HP notebooks stuck on HP logo forever after reboot, then diagnosing, repairing, undoing update. HP support says BIOS corrupted, reset to default fixes it.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU RUN A DECENT BACKUP PROGRAM ON YOUR OS!!!
