We are going to be closing early today. It appears the recent bout of lurgy has got to us. Hopefully back open Tuesday. 🤒

Hi everyone,
This is a bit of a different post but I feel the need to address a situation. Recently we've had an individual come into the shop and started treating one of our own quite rudely and it was unwarranted.

Let me be clear on something. There are two people who work at Central Computers. Both Reece and I. Reece is qualified and trained to handle a variety of issues that we regularly see and alot more. We understand that you may wish to continue with the person you started your repair with but been derogatory towards the other will not be tolerated.

Anyone been rude, abusive or derogatory to my staff will no longer have any services from Central Computers at all.

A big shoutout for Reece please as he's been a more than capable superstar and he can help on any level.

Thank you for time in reading this
Chris

A licence plate for a White Vauxhall has been found at the traffic lights in town this morning. We have it in the computer shop if you want to collect.

Thank you for your amazing write up. It was quite the journey we took together there 😁.

I'm glad you are happy with our service and don't forget, if you need anything, no matter how small, you know we are here for you.

We're proud to be working alongside the Love Driffield Hub, a local food bank doing wonderful things for our community.

If you have devices you no longer need that can still connect to the internet for simple tasks, we'd love to help them find a new home. As a thank-you, we're waiving our data destruction fees on any device donated to the Love Driffield Hub.

Old devices often hold more personal information than we realise — emails, photos, saved passwords and even banking details. Our secure data destruction service permanently erases all of that, so you can donate with complete peace of mind without any costs.

We accept most working technology, laptops, tablets, smartphones, monitors, speakers and memory cards/sticks, etc.

Everything stays local. Every donation helps someone in our community who may just need a little helping hand.

If you'd like to donate, simply drop by or get in touch — we'd be happy to help.

Dust is the silent killer of your electronics. 🖥️

Over time, it builds up inside your devices — clogging fans, trapping heat, and slowly choking performance out of your hardware. The result? Overheating, loud fan noise, reduced lifespan, and unexpected shutdowns.

Whether it's your Consoles, laptop, or desktop PC — dust doesn't discriminate, and neither do we.

We offer professional internal clean-outs for: 🎮 Games Consoles 💻 Laptops & Notebooks 🖥️ Desktop PCs & Towers

We open it up, clear out the buildup, reapply thermal paste where needed, and get your device running cool and quiet again.

Same-day turnaround available. Message us or drop by to book your clean-out today!

Some very sad news today. We've unfortunately lost a major part our hearts today. Our lovely, friendly and amazing feline companion Ozzy is now pain free and running around us in the spirit world.

We apologise if we are a bit under the weather next week, please don't let that put you off coming in. We're still here to help with your tech.

Heat Warning: Is Your Device at Risk?

As the temperatures rise, it is important to remember that your smartphone, laptop, and tablet contain Lithium-ion batteries that are sensitive to heat. Leaving them in a hot car or direct sunlight can be dangerous.

Why Heat is a Problem:

Extreme heat can make Lithium-ion batteries unstable. This can shorten battery life, cause swelling, or in serious cases, lead to fire or explosion.

Do Not Leave Devices in Cars:

Many people think leaving a phone in a parked car for a short time is fine. But on a sunny day, the inside of a car can reach dangerous temperatures quickly, far beyond what electronics can safely handle.

Quick Safety Tips:

Never leave devices in parked cars, even with windows cracked
Keep gadgets out of direct sunlight
If your device feels hot, stop using it and let it cool in the shade
Watch for signs of battery swelling, such as screen lifting or bulging

If your device is acting strange, swelling, or getting hot, bring it to us for a professional inspection. We can check the battery health and replace it before it becomes a hazard.

Stay safe and keep your tech protected.
