All set up for tonights Smartphone Speedquiz for the 10th Doncaster Scout Group held The Glasshouse. Doors open at 7. Quiz from 7:30. Tickets on the door if you haven't already got yours.

I think an enjoyable evening was had by all. I certainly enjoyed hosting the quiz. They had been having fun all afternoon, then a bbq followed by my quiz. To round things off a singer by the fire keeping everyone warm.

Despite there being no football last night, The Glasshouse Sunday night Speedquiz was still held in the function room because of a problem with connecting to the screens in the main pub. We had two early fast tracks in the last round ("ItsComingHome Probably maybe definitely" & "Just Us"). "its coming home" led all the way, until they were overtaken in the last round by "four king students"

A SpeedQuizing event can be hosted at almost any venue, all the equipment needed to host the event is brought by the host, although being able to connect into the venues own sound and TV systems does enhance the experience.

The SpeedQuizzing system has changed the way people today approach quiz events, but more specifically it has enabled the Great British pub quiz to evolve into something new. Gone is the slow pace. Gone is the cheating (that has undermined the integrity of pen and paper pub quizzes for many years) and the days where quiz contestants actually have to mark each others question sheets is thankfully also now a thing of the past.
