This week, colleagues from across bf1systems came together to complete IOSH Managing Safely training, a valuable investment in both personal development and our continued commitment to safety excellence.

At bf1systems, we believe a strong safety culture starts with knowledgeable, confident people who feel empowered to make the right decisions every day.

By building capability across all levels of the business, we are not only enhancing compliance but strengthening our culture, improving risk awareness, and helping ensure that everyone goes home safe.

Custom solutions, delivered at motorsport speed 🏁

At bf1systems, we don’t just supply sensors, we engineer tailored solutions when an off‑the‑shelf part isn’t right for the application.

Here are two real examples of how our in‑house design capability helped teams get the data they needed fast:

🔸 WEC Cooling System Investigation

A team needed to understand intermittent behaviour in their cooling system. Their existing combined pressure and temperature sensor met the spec for race use, but didn’t have the bandwidth to capture the transient detail.

We quickly modified the sensor design, built a batch for a specific test, and the data helped pinpoint the source of the issue so it could be fixed.

🔸 Open‑wheel brake duct temperature

A team wanted fast‑response temperature measurement inside their brake ducts. They selected our NTC2F temperature sensor but needed a longer Peek tip so the sensing element sat centrally in the duct and away from other heat sources. We customised the design and delivered parts in under 6 weeks, start to finish.

From applying connectors to fully bespoke sensor solutions, we work side by side with customers to create exactly what’s needed, when it’s needed.

A huge congratulations to our Managing Director, James Welham on completing the London Marathon yesterday! 🏃‍♂️

An incredible milestone after months of dedication and hard work training, including multiple half marathons and 20- and 22-mile runs. James crossed the finish line in an impressive 04:31:26.

James ran in support of EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice), helping to raise an incredible £2,555 for a charity that provides vital care and support to children and families across Norfolk and the wider region.

We couldn’t be prouder of what James has achieved, from where his running journey began to completing the world’s biggest marathon.

Well done James, a fantastic personal achievement and a moment to be proud of! 🧡

We’re incredibly proud to be supporting our Managing Director, James Welham, as he prepares to run the London Marathon on Sunday 26 April. 🏃‍♂️

James’ running journey only began in 2025, in just over a year he’s pushed himself relentlessly. Completing 100 miles in January, tackling 20- and 22-mile training runs as well as running multiple half marathons, most recently finishing in a strong 1:56:12 at the Norwich Half, James’ commitment has been nothing short of outstanding.

This year, James is running in support of EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices) a charity close to home here in Norfolk that provides vital care and support to children and families across the region. Thanks to his hard work and the generosity of others, James has already raised over £1,000.
