On Wednesday 26th October, we will be hosting a gaming session with a twist. From 4pm, we will have a movie, food, and Halloween activities. From 6pm we will have our gaming session as usual! *Please note, we normally host 2 gaming sessions on Wednesday evenings, but please feel free to turn up for the entire evening (4pm - 7.30pm) and come and go as you desire. No part of this event is mandatory so if you or your child doesn't want to come for the movie, that is absolutely fine - just come along for 6pm as usual.

As it's Women's History Month we're celebrating some of the women who shaped the Games industry. Who better to kick things off than Carol Shaw, one of the first female games programmers and designers and the first woman to get her name on a games box.

Starting at Atari she began writing games for the Atari 2600, her first games included 3D tic-tac-toe and Polo.

From there she moved on to Activision where she made her name. Here she created the game she is best known for, River Raid - a vertically scrolling shooter that won numerous awards and sold over a million cartridges. She retired in 1990 at the age of 35 and in 2017 she was awarded the Industry Icon Award at the Game Awards.
