And then we were twelve.

Twelve years ago, IT Systems & Support Limited started with a simple idea: technology should help organisations succeed, not hold them back.

What began as a small local IT company with one phone and a laptop has grown into a trusted technology partner supporting schools, academies, trusts, businesses and organisations across the UK.

Over the last twelve years we've seen technology transform almost beyond recognition. We've moved from on-premise servers and traditional networks to cloud platforms, cyber security frameworks, hybrid working, AI and digital transformation. Through every change, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to putting customers first.

Today, we are proud to hold internationally recognised accreditations including ISO 27001, ISO 22301 and ISO 27017, Cyber Essentials certification, and positions on Crown Commercial Service frameworks including RM6190 and G-Cloud 14. But the achievements we value most are not certificates or contracts—they are the relationships we have built and the trust our customers place in us every day.

Is BCC Enough?

For years, many organisations have treated the BCC field as the simple answer to protecting privacy when sending emails to multiple recipients.

However, the ICO's guidance is clear: BCC alone may not be sufficient when personal or sensitive information is involved. The regulator has warned that organisations should assess the risks of each communication and consider more secure alternatives where appropriate.

The reality is that some of the most commonly reported data breaches arise from email mistakes. A single incorrect click can expose personal information, damage trust and potentially trigger a reportable data breach.

The ICO recommends considering alternatives such as:

• Mail merge solutions
• Dedicated bulk email platforms
• Secure file transfer services
• Individual communications for higher-risk messages

BCC still has its place, particularly for lower-risk communications, but organisations should no longer view it as a complete privacy safeguard.
