More In Common Darlington began life in January 2017 under the name "White Rose Darlington". We were inspired by Jo Cox, the humanitarian MP who became a victim of hate crime when she was murdered in 2016. To find out why we decided to change our name, CLICK HERE.

Do you have an old computer lying around? Maybe a laptop you haven't used for a while? Perhaps a tablet or mobile phone that you have which just sits around gathering dust?

Why not recycle them?

Donating your old, unused devices to DINE - Digital Inclusion North East will ensure your data is securely destroyed (or backed up for you should you wish - free of charge) and your device is passed on to someone who would benefit from access to technology.

You can drop it off at Pathfinder House or we can arrange collection for your device.

Digital Inclusion

Ofcom has today finalised their decision to force all UK broadband and phone providers – oddly including those that may not even deliver phone services – to offer a free (inc. zero-rated data usage), 24/7 video relay service for British Sign Language (BSL) users to contact the emergency services, via a dedicated mobile app and website.

More In Common Darlington will be helping to encourage people all over Britain to conquer lockdown and help others tonight.
Last year saw a surge in volunteers wanting to help their local community.
More than 750,000 people signed up to the NHS Volunteer App, while mutual aid groups connected millions of people who needed help during the pandemic.
Our More in Common Network saw groups of ordinary people help each other throughout the year, all across the country. More In Common Darlington (MICD) celebrated some of those volunteers in our virtual Great Get Together last June.
The first few months of 2021 are going to be tough, but we know there are better times ahead.
Over the next few months and beyond, community activism will be more important than ever, so that all our communities can get through the pandemic and come back stronger together.
We know that there are lots of people who want to do their bit to help out their community, but we also understand that taking that first step can feel daunting.
If you want to find some inspiration -- just to put a toe in the water -- or are looking for new ideas and connections to boost what you're doing already then join us tonight, Thursday 14th January at 7pm online to find out how the More in Common Network can help you do this. We look forward to seeing you there!
More in Common Darlington will be hosting one of the conversations this evening to talk about our work here. Come along and hear how you can get involved!

We are pleased to announce we are supporting NQA Foodbank Darlington and would encourage able to do the same to do so.

This year has seen great challenges, and great issues with inequality.

NQA Foodbank has currently helped over 70 families in the area and this is made possible by their team of volunteers and the generous donations they have received.

Also, please stay tuned as we will be posting some updates about our new workshop!

Don't forget, if you have any old unused computer equipment, laptops or technology, we recondition them to be provided to families in need.
