Sysflex has renewed its membership of AVIXA — the global association for the professional AV industry — for another year.

Membership matters, but what sits behind it matters more: AVIXA is also the body behind the CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) qualification, the recognised professional standard in pro-AV. I hold CTS myself, and our wider team is either CTS-qualified or working toward it — because we think the people specifying and installing your AV should be certified to do it properly, not just enthusiastic about it.

For clients across the region, that's the point of all this: AV that's designed and installed to a recognised industry standard, by people who've proven they know how.

Last week, we had the privilege of working with the Palmer Hall in Fairford, to install and commission a new audio visual system in the first in a series of upgrades. What a beautiful original venue it is.

Palmer Hall in Fairford was built in 1936 on land donated by Arkell's Brewery and funded by Colonel A. J. Palmer of the Huntley & Palmers biscuit company, who gifted it to the town “for the enrichment of the lives of the townsfolk.”

Designed by Dowglass & Pyle, it opened in 1937, it quickly became the heart of the community—hosting films, dances, wartime events and performances.

It remains a key venue today, available to hire for a wide range of events.

Huge internet outage this morning. Affecting many services across the board. Even though it’s thought to be AWS it seems to be affecting Microsoft services also.

DownDetector has been flooded with huge spikes for many apps people use every day
