Whilst we are not on the high street we are easily found being only a 10-15 minute drive from both Lurgan and Portadown town centres. What a difference a year makes!

As long time followers of my page will know, I used to juggle repairs with another full time job.

I'm not ashamed to say it. My place of work was basically my second home for over 20 years, I loved the job and those I worked with were the best bunch of people I could have asked to work with. To say we had the best craic is a huge understatement and that's part and parcel why I kept going with two jobs.

For those who didn't know, I made the plates that went on a newspaper press to print the papers. The irony is the very things I fix are what is killing newspapers!

Anyway, back to what this post is above. Exactly one year ago today we were all called collectively together to be told we were losing our jobs due to closure. I was devastated.

I had a choice to make, either try and get another job and continue juggling which would have been extremely hard find one that worked as well around repairs or go all in....

All in it was! I love repairing tech, I always have. It's simply in my blood. I certainly hope that shows through on social media activity, I try my best to show how work is completed correctly and you even see me becoming increasingly infuriated at the poor jobs done elsewhere! I try my best to sure you all that Esky Repair is me!

So here we are, 8 months after I lost my job and Esky Repair, that little pet project of mine that started completely via accident is now one of the longest running tech repair companies in the whole of NI. I've been on training courses to offer you even more types of repairs too!

I want to thank each and every one of you who took a chance on me, to each of you who have hit that recommend button online, to each of you that pop my name on that social media post, to anyone who has gave me words of encouragement and also to those who I haven't yet helped out!

Also a quick shout out the those in repair trade themselves who said I could do it even when I had huge self doubt, thank you too.

And more importantly! HUGE savings for this customer. 🤑🤑🤑🤑

As the OLED was still good I was able to strip just the glass layer off and replace instead of a complete new screen.

Doing so saves this customer a huge amount of money.

The ONLY place offering this service in house in NI is here at Esky Repair. 😜

Simply follow this diversion on the hill at Derrymacash and it'll eventually bring you out at Derrytrasna crossroads. Take left there and you'll see my sign for Esky Repair at the side of the road. 👍

You will mostly receive your collection text this morning to say your device is ready! 🎉

The ones that don't? I have had to order parts, you will receive your text soon. ☺️

EVERYONE, please pay attention to the hours in your text over the next two weeks as I have a lot on away from my workbench as I mentioned in my video last week. Despite popular opinion there isn't a chain at my feet keeping me there. 😂

Please get your devices in asap if you need something sorted, again this is due to time constraints and not wanting anybody disappointed.

I really don't want the after effects I usually do when you've gone to the "handy shops" after I've been unavailable, it only costs you more £ and both of us agro. 😝

What a week! 😅

I personally want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has popped in and supported us this week.

I’m not going to lie, I had a bad week last week. A small number of people were putting me under a lot of pressure with unrealistic expectations, I was absolutely dreading this week.

Every single one of you has been a pleasure to help out this week and it really does help the old headspace. ☺️

It's been great getting those repairs done to my usual professional standard. On top of that, I went LIVE on TikTok for the first time which I believe was a success , showing just what goes into doing what I do. 📱✨

I've enjoyed this week so much, it’s 7:30pm on a Friday night, and I’m currently getting even more stock in ready to go to brand new homes next week!🏠♥️

We truly wouldn't be where we are today without our amazing customers supporting us, recommending us to friends, and keeping us busy. We appreciate every single one of you.

This customer brought in this iPad as it wasn't charging and not a moment too soon!

As soon as I plugged it in to test I saw the draw spiking and ripped the charge cable out. It was smoking and definitely would have caused melted cables and quite possibly a fire! 🔥🔥🔥

Not to worry, a new charge port soldered in and it's back in action once again. ☺️

Are you using good quality cables to charge your devices or running around with rubbish from the bargain shops?

A cheap cable will be the most expensive cable you buy! Don't believe me? Wait until it goes wrong then you will! 😜
