Car door vs iPhone 🚗📱
Unfortunately, the door won. Board was cracked right through, leaving over 20,000 photos and videos trapped with zero backup.

Fortunately, it was brought to the right bench for data recovery 🛠️ Full board swap done, she fired straight up, and every single memory was rescued.

It's currently 2:30 AM and the job's just finished. Time to call it a night ☕

I'm not gonna cry about these anymore. Just laugh....

Imagine paying to get your PS5’s HDMI port replaced, only for it to fall straight out as soon as you try plugging it in at home... 😅

Honestly, I was shocked at the quality of this work. Not only was the HDMI port barely held on, but the console hadn't been cleaned, and the APU was completely missing its liquid metal! Even if the HDMI port had worked, the console would have overheated and shut down within minutes anyway. 😂

Fortunately, it made its way to my bench. I cleaned out the dust, reapplied fresh liquid metal, and soldered a brand-new HDMI port properly this time.

It’s back in full working order

- I'll not need to tell you which photos are of my work... 😅

Poco X3 Pro

Running one of these-or a Samsung -without a backup is playing with fire 🔥

These models are notoriously susceptible to CPU disconnect and board-level failures.

If you find yourself facing a dead device like this client did, your data is safe in these hands. 👍💪

📱 S22 Ultra — salt water damage 🌊

Motherboard too badly damaged to repair, but the phone contained extremely important data — lots of sentimental photos & videos.

Prepped a replacement board and transferred the original CPU, RAM, EPROM & UFS to retain the data.

Data recovered. Phone back up and running. 🔧

🎮 Xbox & PS5 HDMI repairs — done properly.

Not like those consoles that came in with more issues than they were booked in with at other places 😵

Prior repair attempts will now cost 2x the original quote.

The reason? A repair that should take X amount of time can take twice as long when I first have to undo and repair someone else’s work.

If it was booked into me in the first place, it would have cost half the price. 🤷‍♂️

Dead PS5 Pro in this week 🎮
Failed mid-update and completely bricked-no beep, no light, zero response

• Standby Draw: Flat 0.017A on 12V (no boot pulse)

• NOR Flash Check: Pin 6 (SCLK) stuck dead at 0V

Southbridge EMC core locked up mid-update and couldn't read the bootloader to fire the main power rails.

£700+ console saved 💪

Telling a customer their device is "beyond repair" just because you can't fix it yourself is bad business 😵

Two devices landed this week after another place wrote off their iPhone/iPad as total scrap—an iPad stuck in recovery mode, and an iPhone 16 Plus with a cracked board that wouldn't pick up SIM cards.

That shop knows we offer B2B micro-soldering, so there’s no excuse for turning people away when they could easily outsource the job, or even point them in the right direction! Pure ego.

One RF swap later, the iPhone is working 100%, and the iPad is back up and running too!

Galaxy Note 9 that required some specialist treatment to recover the data — and there was a lot of it, with the storage around 95% full!

Always back up your data, folks. 🙌

And if you don’t… well, you know who to call when things go wrong. 😉 We like to think we’re pretty good at this!

Not every repair is a screen, battery or charging port. There’s a whole lot more to this industry than meets the eye, and data recovery can be some of the most challenging work we do.

One of the smaller additions to the workshop. Waveform/Multimeter 😁

This will make life a wee bit easier!

Stay tuned. Alot more coming 💪👌
