Last week before the cold snap, The Ink Well staff members' Simon (Print ) and Shanta (Art store) joined Premier Paper Group to plant Trees with The Woodland Trust in Fairfield Bromsgrove at the Woodland Trusts Pepper Wood. Here, we had a a great few hours in the designated sight along with a small team we planted 600 native broad leaf trees!!
We, as well as our print customers, are increasingly conscious on what we can do to help with the carbon footprint and use of trees that comes from the print industry.
To that end, we were delighted when Premier Paper Group gave us the opportunity to sign up to their, and The Woodland Trust, "Carbon Capture Scheme" where we now have our certificate to show that, as well as buying FSC certified papers, we now also pay a Carbon Capture Fee on all our purchased materials from Premier Paper Group. In return, this means our customers know they are also contributing to the program when printing with us here at The Ink Well.
I would encourage anyone to also arrange a day with The Woodland Trust to experience a Tree Planting day as it was a lot of fun and great to be out with new people in the English countryside planting a future woodland!
