This XUM gaming PC came in with faulty fans, the phantom controller had given up powering them and only displaying the LED lights, one new controller later and now all fans work as well as the disco settings.

This HP Elite X2 came in needing a factory reset, all files saved to an external drive and windows reset, all updates have been installed and it’s ready for a new life.

This ACER Aspire came in running very slow, I have run a few basic commands from powershell and removed a bunch of entries from services and start up, doing this has improved it drastically but ultimately it needs a newer non mechanical hard drive and more ram.

This Dell came in running very hot, the fans would go full power, Making it sound like a jet taking off!! Cleaned the fans out and dusted the whole laptop inside and outside, took off the old dried up thermal paste and added new paste to help keep things cool. Doesn’t sound like a F16 anymore 😎

Tech Tip: quickest simple way to update your computer or laptops software is using POWERSHELL which is built into Windows 10 or 11, once you have launched this with administrator rights, simply type:

WINGET UPGRADE --all

Then let Windows do the hard work for you, just follow any prompts.

Another ACER has paid me a visit, this time a faulty windows update caused an issue when logging in, once PIN was entered a blank screen would present itself, mouse cursor is there but all you can do is move it around, clicking does nothing, Ctrl+alt+del did nothing, after a little diagnostic I was able to boot into safe mode and roll back the update thus solving the issue. Laptop on its way home.
