I'm currently watching droplets of rain race down the window from the comfort of the studio. Our lunchtime walk will look a little different today, whilst I daydream of warm, summer days from under my raincoat.

I'm currently booking branding and graphic design projects to start through September.

Print's not dead! 💪💥

Here's a marketing brochure I created for Surrey Hills Yurts to launch their new events. Think glamping, campfires, yoga and locally produced good food.

✉️ If you need your marketing materials to stand out and look great - especially amongst all the Ai generated content we're currently seeing! - pop me a message and have your brochure designed by a real human.

"Why can't my brand look like everyone elses? It clearly works for them."

It's totally understandable why someone looking to start or grow a business might think this. All the other businesses in your niche are doing it, so shouldn't you be doing it too?

Here's my take on the question from a Brand Designers perspective!

Who knew I was a rule breaker! 😇

Here are the 3 rules I break so I don't become a miserable graphic designer:

1. Designers should look for inspiration on the internet, or be inspired by designs on Pinterest. Nope! I also like to get away from screens and get my inspiration from real life sometimes, too.

2. Brand designers are taught to include one 'bad' concept so that it makes the good ones stand out and look even stronger. This doesn't sit well with me, so I don't do it, all my concepts are of equal quality.

3. Using a grid in print designs such as brochures or books. Sometimes, designing freestyle means that a layout will look more balanced to the eye, and it allows for more creative layouts.

From the cutting room floor ✂️

An unchosen brand concept for The Blue Lion, Cwm.

Every brand identity client receives at least three ready-to-use brand concepts to choose between, which means some designs, like this one, never get to see the light of day - until now!

✉️ I currently have space for branding projects - get in touch!
