🪧 Signage That Does More Than Just “Look Nice”
Recently completed these composite sign panels for Shukers Farm Shop & Butchers - designed, printed and installed to work properly in a real-world environment.
This kind of signage has a job to do. It’s not just decoration. It needs to grab attention, guide customers, and make information easy to take in quickly, especially from a distance.
That’s where proper design comes in 👇
Too many businesses are starting to rely on quick, AI-generated artwork or templated layouts. It might look “okay” at first glance, but it often misses the fundamentals that actually make signage effective:
• Visual hierarchy – what people see first, second and third
• Clear typography – readable at distance, not just on a screen
• Colour psychology – using tones that feel right for the brand and setting
• Spacing and layout – giving content room to breathe so it can be understood quickly
Get those wrong and the sign might look busy, confusing, or worse… untrustworthy.
Get them right and the opposite happens.
You build confidence, clarity and credibility before a customer even walks through the door.
That’s why businesses that invest in proper design over time tend to stand out more. Not louder… just clearer, consistent and professional.
For Shukers, the aim was simple. Keep it on-brand, easy to follow, and strong enough to work day in, day out, whether someone’s driving past or standing right in front of it.
If your signage isn’t pulling its weight, it’s usually not a print issue… It’s a design one.
