Some customer with SKY Q are reporting boxes shutting down last night and still not working.

Sky have confirmed a technical issue and are asking customer to unplug for 30 seconds and then plug boxes back in.

Message from Sky website below.

“We are aware of some technical issues overnight that led to Sky Q boxes to go into standby mode. Our technical support teams investigated and resolved this. If your sky Q box is still stuck in standby please switch off your Sky Q box at the power socket for 30 seconds and back on again which will restore service. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

High pressure is affecting reception across the UK. Some disruption is being reported by Freeview to occur from 15th till 19th January.

We have had many calls today with customers reporting this.

Please do not retune as this may end up removing channels due to poor signal.

The reception will return once the high pressure passes.

Netflix has announced that on July 24, 2024, the Netflix app will no longer be supported on some 2014 Sony BRAVIA LCD TVs due to technical limitations.
You can continue to use the Netflix app on your TV until July 23, 2024. After this date, it will be removed from the Apps menu on all affected models listed in the link.

Using an external streaming device like an Amazon Firestick or Roku stick will enable you to continue to use your tv with Netflix.

BBC have brought forward the switch off date for Standard Definition channels on SKY and Freesat from March 2024 to 8 January 2024.

Please note this only effects Standard definition channels on Freesat and Sky. Freeview is unaffected by these changes.

Freesat & SKY users who are using older non HD boxes will need to change them to continue to receive the BBC channels.

High pressure currently affecting Freeview.

Television signals can be affected by high pressure atmospheric conditions, which generally brings fine weather or morning fog. This may result in temporary pixilation which will pass once the weather conditions change. Matt Taylor from BBC weather explains why.
