Colour combos that make beauty brands look expensive 💅

Beauty is one of the few sectors where saying less sells more. The palette isn’t there to grab attention, it’s there to make the product feel considered enough that someone trusts it on their skin.

That usually means a deep, grounded base doing the heavy lifting with one soft tone on top for warmth. Restraint reads as premium. Too much colour reads as cheap.

Get the two right and the product photography does the rest.

New client alert 🧱 Say hello to Cheshire Lime, heritage building restoration specialists based just up the road in Sealand.

They’re the people who keep the North West’s oldest buildings standing, lime plastering, pointing and limewashing listed properties, and supplying the proper materials to trade and DIY alike. Their words: “mindful of the past, keeping an eye on the future.”

We’re moving them off WordPress and onto Shopify: around 75 products organised properly, shipping rates that make sense from a single bag to a full pallet, and every URL redirected so the rankings they’ve earned stay put.

Less really is more 🤍

The best luxury websites don’t shout. They give products room to breathe, keep the palette quiet, and let considered typography and generous whitespace do the talking. It’s restraint as a design language, and when it’s done well it feels effortless (which, of course, takes serious craft).
