A productive morning with Ben and Charlotte at Taylor Investigations
A lot of businesses know they should be doing more with their marketing. The harder bit is finding the time, deciding what to talk about and making sure all the different pieces actually work together.

So this morning was about getting ahead of it.

We mapped out the next month of content across social media and the website, looked at news stories, blogs and newsletters, worked through scheduling and content ideas, and spent some time looking at how their CRM can better support the sales and marketing process too.

Not just coming up with things to post but putting some structure behind it so there’s a clear plan for the weeks ahead.

That’s a big part of how I work with businesses at RIMANO Sometimes it’s creating the content, sometimes it’s the strategy, and sometimes it’s sitting around a table for a few hours getting everything out of people’s heads and into an actual plan.

Plenty for us to get cracking with over the next month.

Seven years apart. Same beach. Same tradition. Same name.

I came across these two photos today.

Back then, Skye was helping me write RIMANO in the sand. Next week she turns 12 and starts secondary school, so seeing these side by side hit a little differently.

It's not just her that's changed.

In seven years, she's gone from a little girl writing in the sand to getting ready for her first day at secondary school.

In that same time, the world has changed. Marketing has changed. Technology has changed. The way we build businesses and relationships has changed.

The name in the sand hasn't changed. Everything behind it has.

Looking back, it's a reminder that growth doesn't always happen overnight. Sometimes it happens so gradually that you only notice it when you stop and look.

Here's to many more years of writing RIMANO in the sand. 🖤🤍

A warm start to the day networking with Norfolk Chambers of Commerce at Wymondham RFC

Kudos to Joe Randlesome from Contract Personnel Ltd for his jokes... am a big fan of stand up and if you drop a funny pun or dad-joke you'll always get a laugh.

Aaron Doddington-Smith from Norfolk and Waveney Mind shared a clever A-Z when it comes to mental health, the power of checking in on someone, and a simple "how are you?"

Thanks to Rob Wilson, Jacob Percy-Griffiths and Katie Norwood from the Chambers team for hosting, organising and sharing about the upcoming events they have: September Social, B2B, Christmas at the Castle and more!

Bumped into a few people that I haven't seen in a long time, showing the value of getting outside of Norwich city centre sometimes!

What’s your RIMANO name? 🤔

People often ask where the name RIMANO came from.

It’s simply the first two letters of my full name:

RIck MArtin NOtley.

So for a bit of fun…

If you did the same with your name, what would you end up with?

Some sound like proper brands.

Some sound like they’re straight out of an IKEA furniture range.

Some are completely unpronounceable.

And some… just shouldn’t exist! 😂

1 August. A blank page.

Today marks the start of RIMANO

A new chapter in my go to notebook and plenty of blank pages waiting to be filled.

One detail in this photo probably won’t mean much to most people… the Zebra pen.

Growing up, Zebra was always around. My dad, Martin, was Sales & Marketing Director for ZEBRA PEN UK and played a huge part in getting their products onto the shelves of many of the retailers we all recognise today.

So although RIMANO has become known for its black and white branding, there’s another little piece of DNA in this photo too.

It feels fitting that the first notes, ideas and plans for this new chapter are written with a Zebra pen.

I’m incredibly excited about what’s ahead.

To everyone who’s supported me, encouraged me, introduced me to people, trusted me with their business or simply followed the journey… thank you.

Now it’s time to fill the pages.

Let’s build something special.

It’s been a little quiet on the RIMANO page recently…

We’d love to say that’s because Netflix asked us to keep the documentary under wraps.

They didn’t. But we made one anyway.

RIMANO first started in Norfolk in 2019 and, although it has continued quietly in the background, it has never had the opportunity to receive Rick’s full attention.

From 1 August, it will.

There are big plans ahead, exciting businesses and partnerships already taking shape, and plenty more to share over the coming weeks.

This film explains where RIMANO has been, what has led us here and why now feels like the right time to go all in.

The quiet period is officially over.
