LNR came to us after realising they had vanished from Google Maps and local search. Google enquiries had dropped off, and a fix was needed. After failing to gain access to their profile themselves, they turned to us for help.

The quick fix resulted in a positive return on investment in just 14 days and reduced the time LNR spent without enquiries. We helped LNR get back on the map and work from Google is now picking back up.

This is how we did it:

✅ We contacted Google to let them know the problem and that the usual method of reclaiming a profile wasn’t possible
✅ Google verified we were acting on behalf of LNR
✅ We created a duplicate profile and asked Google to merge them so we could protect the reviews LNR had collected over the years
✅ After some back and forth with Google, they merged the profiles and LNR is now visible again in Buckingham.
✅ We updated the services, areas and categories for LNR’s profile so they could show up in more locations.
✅ We gave LNR access to their profile again and gave advice on how to generate new reviews.
✅ Once the profile was live again, work picked up pretty much instantly and the project paid for itself in around 14 days.

What happens once every 2 years and is guaranteed to inspire you?

The KBB Birmingham Exhibition, obviously.

I carved out some time to get to the NEC yesterday. Some highlights of the day include discovering incredible inventions such as the Hidealoo and learning about innovative software companies like ArtiCAD Ltd.

The things humans can create blow my mind. I'll always be geeking out when it comes to new KBB tech.

I really enjoyed talking with kitchen, bedroom and bathroom companies at the NEC. As I’ve mentioned before, I had a bathroom installation company for around 10 years before going full-time with Conscious Vision.

This means the bathroom industry will always be close to my heart, and I’m prioritising new clients who are in the KBB industry for this reason.

Some of the key issues I heard regarding marketing today were:

- Websites failing to convert
- Website not “doing the product justice”
- Messaging being off
- Competitors outranking them on Google when they have a “worse product”
- No idea of their target market
- Poor ROI or none at all from their current marketing

This has emphasised the revenue-first, “Conversion SEO” direction I’m taking Conscious Vision and the work I’ve been doing behind the scenes over the past few months.

Here are a few easy ways to build backlinks to your retail business. It's well known that if done correctly, backlinks can increase the revenue you make through SEO.

1 - Provide testimonials to your suppliers/distributors/partners. Make sure you get a link in return!

2- If your suppliers have a "Find a stockist" or "Find a showroom", ensure you are on that list (with a link)

What has 2023 taught you about running a business?

For me, it's taught me patience. To trust the process. As long as you're making small steps towards your goal, you're making progress. Be present, and embrace it (even when it's hard)!

I'm so grateful for every business owner I've had the pleasure of connecting with (and learning from) this year!

Through my free SEO video review, I've helped over 100 amazing local businesses improve their visibility and revenue online this year. Many became clients, and some took my advice, did the work themselves and got results (which I love).

There were 3 common occurrences in around 51% of the websites I looked at. Is your website missing these too?

1- No About Page - In a world of E-E-A-T, an About page is VITAL. It helps you become a trustworthy expert in Google's eyes and increases conversions.

2- No CTA - Not technically SEO, but why wouldn't you want to encourage traffic to learn more about you, visit you or buy your products? This increases user engagement and lowers how many people return to the search results to look for somebody else!

3- No local backlinks/citations - If you are a local business, backlinks from other local businesses in your area and directory listings help boost your geographical ranking. Some methods include sponsoring local sports teams, building niche listings directly or stealing your competitors.

Improve your click-through rate by optimising your title and meta description to highlight what makes you unique from your competition.
