I’ve seen a lot of scaremongering recently about a new feature on iPhones called NameDrop, and people are panicking thinking that their data can be taken from their phone just by somebody placing their phone next to it.
This isn’t the case, NameDrop is only used to send your contact info to another phone *if you choose to*. Same goes for AirDrop and sending photos - you are the only person who can decide to send data from your phone, nobody can take it.
Of course, it goes without saying that everyone should still be careful with the security settings on their phone and make sure they have a strong passcode, protect their passwords, and use multi factor authentication where possible.
