Martin Lewis has sent out a reminder about the 159 telephone service.
Dialing 159 in the UK connects you directly and securely to your bank if you've received a suspicious call about your finances. This number is used to break the link with a potential scammer and is a safe way to contact your bank's fraud prevention service when you suspect a scam is occurring or is about to occur. It works with most major UK banks and cannot be spoofed, meaning the call will never come from a scammer.
It may be worth saving this number in to your phone contact list.

As I should have mentioned earlier, Wimbledon has started today, and coverage is on the BBC iPlayer, some of which is in Ultra High Definition.

This weekend is Glastonbury Music Festival.
The BBC are showing over 90 hours of live streaming on the iPlayer. Coverage from the five main stages.
The Pyramid Stage sets will once again be available to stream live in Ultra High Definition and in British Sign Language.

If you wish to enjoy the experience at it's best the Sony OLED range of TV's with acoustic screen will give the best combination of picture and sound currently available. Just add your own Mud!

Recently Microsoft has rolled out an update which has affected printing and scanning for some people.
This is because the Network settings have been changed from Private to Public.
Check this by right clicking the network symbol on the taskbar. Open Network and Internet Settings. Check the properties shows Private. If it shows Public, click on it and change it to Private.
This should then resolve the printing and scanning issue.

Dont forget, Windows 10 support is ending October this year.
If your PC is able to be updated to Windows 11, back up your data and start the upgrade process.
If your PC isn't Windows 11 compatible, look at replacing the device to maintain security.

If you own a Windows based computer, check for updates to the operating system regularly. A number of recent issues have been caused by the operating system being out of date.
Go to Settings - Update & Security - Check for updates.
Also check the apps in Microsoft Store are up to date.
Go to Microsoft Store - Library - Get Updates.

Windows 8.1 is coming to the end of support from Microsoft, the exact date is 10th January 2023. This does not mean that the PC will stop functioning but what it does mean is that there will no longer be security updates for the operating system. It is therefore advisable to either upgrade the operating system or replace the PC to maintain security.

The ITV Hub has now stopped working on a number of Smart TV's and Recorders.
To get this service back, an Amazon Firestick or Roku Player can be connected to your TV and will give you not only the ITV Hub, soon to be ITVX, but also give access to all the other TV streaming services.
