We will be conducting essential maintenance on PracticePal this Sunday morning 13th of October between 8am and 9am.
You will not be able to access the system during that time. Please note the online booking portal will not be available during that time either.

Multiple Appointment Reminders are now Live

To use the new reminder options, check the box “Use the following reminder settings”(see below).
Choose when your first reminder should be sent from the combo box “1st Reminder”, then choose when your second reminder should be sent from the combo box “2nd Reminder” and then choose when your third reminder should be sent from the combo box “3rd Reminder”.
You have the option to send 1, 2 or 3 reminders. The reminders will be sent using your Preferred reminder method as per your settings under the General settings.

Once you check the “Use the following reminder settings” your current reminder settings under types of appointment (i.e. 24, 48 or 72 hours before) will be ignored. The new settings will be used instead for each appointment type where the checkbox “Send a reminder for this type” is checked (see below).

Please note that the new appointment reminder settings will use the same appointment reminder templates (email and text).

And please be aware that by default, nothing will change in PracticePal and if you do not wish to use multiple reminders, you do not have to do anything.

Good News

We have now fixed the issue that plagued many of you using the PracticePal App on iPhones.
You are now able to use the “Add to Home Screen” feature to save the App on your device.

First, delete your bookmark or home page shortcut if you have one.
In Safari, navigate to “https://app.practicepal.co.uk”
Enter the account email address and click “Next”
Once on the login page (where you select your name and enter your password),
Click the “Share” button.
Select “Add to Home Screen”. You will have the option to rename it.

You will now have a button on your home screen allowing you to log in faster to Practicepal.

If you have an address bar at the bottom, press “aA” in front of the URL in the address bar and Select “Hide Toolbars” to enter full App screen mode.

Apologies but there has been a slight hiccup with the reminder system over the last 2 days where in some cases duplicates were sent.
We are pleased to tell you this has now been fixed. It has been fixed within 2 hours of the problem being reported.
We do apologise for the inconvenience.

Please rest assured that you will not be charged for the duplicate reminders.

NEW SMS FEATURE
We are pleased to announce that the new multi-part texts feature is now Live. This means that you are now able to send texts as long as you like and they will not be cut short to 160 characters, allowing you to include much more information, and for those of you who text patients to complete portal forms, this will allow you to include more guidance.

As with all software providers, if you do indeed use a longer text you will be charged per block of 160 characters, so for example, if you send a text that is 300 characters long you will be charged for 2 units totalling 20p.

Rest assured, if you do not want to use this function you are able to turn it off. Under ‘Setup’ – ‘General Setup’, in the 3rd column at the top of the screen check the box ‘Limit text length to 160 chars’, and click ‘Save changes’. With this option checked the system will continue to work as before. Please note you will need to log out and back into PracticePal after making this change.
