Assessors don't stop being operational just because a test is running.

Competency tests in the new Visa app were rebuilt with that in mind. Progress saves at every stage, so if you're called away mid-assessment to cover a duty, you save and exit, deal with it, and resume the in-progress test when you're back. It picks up exactly where it stopped, right there on the airfield, with nothing lost and nobody starting again.

Tests also now run at any screen size, so they work on whatever device you're carrying, phone or tablet. And with assessor controls and a full audit trail built in, every outcome stands up to scrutiny later.

If you audit people airside, two changes in the new AIRDAT Visa app should make a difference to your day to day operations.

First of all, the user profile has been redesigned. Credentials, qualifications, penalties and recent assessment outcomes now sit together on a single screen, so the moment you open someone's profile you have everything you need to make a call. It stays synced live with AIRDAT Passport and Onboard, exactly as before. It's just quicker to read and fewer taps to reach.

Secondly, Advanced Audit has a new name and a smarter way of working. Assessment Checker lets you build the list of qualifications you want to verify once, then reuse it across as many people as you need. The qualifications come straight from Passport, and there's no rebuilding the list person by person.

Same records you've always trusted, in a much better place to check them.

Congratulations to Diane Tumulak, our latest AIRDAT Hero.

Multiple nominations, all saying much the same thing. Calm under a workload that would rattle most people, meticulous with every ticket, and never too busy to help someone else out.

Her testing work on AIRDAT Visa has been a big reason the launch is on track, and she still makes time for the Support Team, the Events Committee and whoever turns up with a question.

Your first look at the rebuilt Visa app 👀

At our July Airport Community Forum, Esen Enver and Masterson gave an early preview of the new Visa app before it launches in mid-August.

The whole app has been rebuilt, and there's a lot in it. Competency tests now work properly on mobile (no more tablets) and can be saved and resumed. You can search for users by name, airport ID, email or company. Scanning ADPs and ADAs is faster, and fleet profiles now bring permits, defects and impounds together in one place.

The whole team headed to Kew Gardens on Friday for the day 🌿

We made it round the Palm House, the Davies Alpine House, up the Great Pagoda, over the Treetop Walkway, and had a mooch around Kew Palace. Plus a stop for lunch somewhere in the middle before our legs gave out!

Days like this don't happen without the events committee quietly making it all work behind the scenes. Big thanks to all of you 🙌

Some well-deserved recognition for Lane who's been nominated for an AIRDAT Hero Award!

During the recent heatwave, David and our Training Team reworked schedules and working hours so candidates could complete their airside familiarisation tours at London Gatwick safely and comfortably, avoiding the hottest parts of the day. Extra planning, extra juggling, and every tour still delivered to the highest standard.

Tugs, pushbacks, stairs, buses, and people on foot all moving around live aircraft under constant time pressure. Now add self-driving vehicles into the mix.

That's the mixed-traffic question airports are quietly wrestling with, and it's the one David Sankey, our CEO, will be picking apart at this month's Airport Community Forum on 16th July.
