Communication can change a person's entire experience 💙
An important public recognition of SLCN: TV series The Pitt is receiving the Annie Glenn Award from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) for its portrayal of communication and accessibility in healthcare.
One of the most powerful messages from the show is that individuals can have very different experiences depending on whether they have access to communication. Outcomes, dignity and quality of life can all be affected: a reminder that communication isn't a luxury, it's a fundamental need.
