📊 New DfE data shows SLCN remains the most common need in SEN support, affecting 1 in 4 pupils, with a 2.7% rise from last year.

👉️ The data provides important information for schools planning their Inclusive Mainstream Fund spend: SLCN must be a core part of provision to improve outcomes now and in the future.

Every child deserves to be identified early, supported well and given the chance to succeed.

🔎 Are you after a consistent approach to SLCN that aligns with IMF expectations? Speech & Language Link can help: https://tinyurl.com/5fuf99w4

The TES Teacher Wellbeing Report highlights an important point: many educators still find meaning in what they do, but the conditions around them make that work harder to sustain.
Every day, staff balance teaching, inclusion, behaviour, SEND support and countless other demands, all while trying to give pupils the best possible experience.
Talking to schools every day, we know the commitment and determination staff bring to supporting children and young people, even when it's not easy.
This report offers valuable insight into how staff are feeling and why creating the conditions for them to bring the passion back into their teaching matters so much.

When schools choose suppliers, clarity and professionalism matter.
That’s why we’re proud to be Backed by BESA – it reflects our commitment to clear standards in how we operate and engage with educators.
You can find out more about what that means here: https://besa.org.uk/backed-by-besa
If in doubt, look out for the BESA logo the next time you’re making purchasing decisions. It’s a signal that schools can trust.

"My Government believes that the United Kingdom should be a country fair for all and a place where every child is included in the nation’s highest aspirations"

The King’s Speech 2026 included a keen focus on SEND reform and inclusion for every child, with plans for an “Education for All Bill” designed to improve support for children and young people with SEND.

To create genuinely inclusive education, speech, language and communication needs must be recognised and supported.

Speech, language and communication underpin learning, relationships, wellbeing and future opportunities. If settings and schools can identify needs early, access specialist support more easily and put practical strategies in place earlier, children and young people are more likely to succeed.

His Majesty’s most gracious speech to both Houses of Parliament.
