π October's Monthly recap π
And just like that we have flown through October, so here's a rundown of our month at John Henry Group:
Laura's Bake Sale for Sarcoma UK. π°
Just before we moved into October our head office was filled with the sweet smell of baked treats, all thanks to Laura, our amazing Street Works Manager. She hosted a bake sale as part of Sarcoma UK's Cuppa & Cake initiative, raising vital funds and awareness for those affected by Sarcoma - a rare and under-researched cancer that can appear in tissue or bone. This cause is close to Laura's heart, as her sister in-law sadly lost her battle with Osteosarcoma at just 24 years old.
We are proud to support Laura and Sarcoma UK in their mission to fund vital research and provide support to those who need it the most. Every slice makes a difference.
John Henry Group's Spooky Season π
Halloween took a haunting turn at our head office this year! Our brilliant social team transformed the space into a frightful nightmare for all. What completed this were the fake spiders lurking in every corner - with nerves tested throughout the week. Nonetheless, our brave team continued with their work.
A huge shoutout to our social committee for bringing the fright and fun!
Eva's 10K Shine Night Walk for Cancer UK πΆββ‘οΈ
Eva - our Payroll Manager - has also been busy raising money for cancer research, by taking part in a 10k night walk. As a result of hundreds taking part to light up Cambridge's streets, the event raised over Β£200,000 towards Cancer Research UK!
"For me this was an amazing and emotional experience, thank you to all who sponsored me!"
Time and time again, our team show us just how big their hearts are. We are incredibly proud of everyone who steps up to support meaningful causes, striving to make a real difference.
Craig and Steve's Kilimanjaro adventure for Parkinson's UK π»
In other charitable news, as you may have already seen, our very own Steve Henry and his best friend Craig took on Kilimanjaro and successfully raised over Β£4,700 for Parkinson's UK. What an achievement that was from these two, for taking on such a challenge to provide valuable funding for a brilliant cause.
Training our workforce - Done Right π§
As always, our brilliant training team have been hard at work making sure our gangs - and our office crew - are fully equipped to tackle any challenges with confidence. Our Communications Coordinator was on the ground, not just learning lifesaving First Aid skills, but also capturing Steve in action as he delivered vital underground safety training to our teams!
As we sail into November, we are eager as always to push ourselves further towards excellence. Our training team are working hard to build confidence, and our social committee are excelling in making John Henry Group an exciting place to work.
From all of us at John Henry Group we hope you had a great month. π‘ β«
