Supporting the next generation of engineers at Cambridge Regional College 🎓

We were pleased to take part in this year's employer engagement programme, where Andrea Morreale, Mechanical Verification Team Leader at , met with students studying HNC and HND Mechanical and courses.

During the session, Andrea shared insights into mechanical testing for critical communications products, the V-model of product development, Lean manufacturing principles, and the role of test and manufacturing engineering throughout the product lifecycle.

It was encouraging to see such strong engagement from the students, with thoughtful questions and discussions throughout. Feedback from teaching staff highlighted how the session brought classroom learning to life and provided valuable real-world industry context.

Supporting future is important to us, and we value opportunities to build stronger links between industry and education while helping students explore and technology.

To get the best performance from your radios, it's important to inspect, maintain and replace batteries regularly.

Our recommended best practices include:

👀 Check batteries regularly for swelling, wear or damage to identify potential issues early.

🌡️ Avoid extreme temperatures while charging to protect battery health and reduce the risk of overheating.

📋 Check your battery's age using the four-digit date code (YYWW) on the label or by scanning the 2D barcode. For example, 2212 represents week 12 of 2022. Our short video walks you through the process.

🔄 Replace batteries after 24 months of use or more than 500 charge cycles to maintain reliable performance.

Bringing our teams together is an important part of keeping everyone connected to the work shaping the future of .

Our latest Village Hall brought together colleagues from mechanical engineering, software, electronics and test to share project updates, discuss priorities, and look ahead to what's next. It also marked the first session led by Tim Quilter, our new Engineering Director, who shared his vision for the future of Engineering at Sepura.
