For us, intelligence isn’t just about novelty. It’s about control, predictability, and confidence in use. That’s why we combined high-performance hardware with advanced software functionality to automate routine operations and reduce downtime.

We call our hubs intelligent for more than one reason:
💿 Consistent data transfer. Our hubs are built on Thunderbolt technology, which eliminates endpoint limitations and mitigates device dropouts under heavy load. As a result, you get predictable performance regardless of the number of connected devices.

🔋 Controllable power delivery. The smart charging system built into our hubs prevents overcharging and protects battery health, especially important for second-life devices. The latest ThunderSync5-C16 PD also features Power Delivery (PD) profile selection, allowing you to adjust power output on a per-port basis, from 4.5 W to 60 W.

💻 Remote control of operations. With Connect software, IT teams can access hubs and devices remotely, manage users and roles, monitor offline status, schedule charging sessions, set target charge levels and current draw, and more.

📲 One-click DFU mode. Using ThunderSync3-C16 PD or ThunderSync3-C10 with Connect software, you can quickly and securely place Apple devices into DFU mode with a single click or via an API command, enabling rapid OS restoration.

🔗 Broad compatibility and flexibility. Our hubs work across macOS, Windows, and Linux, and support Thunderbolt 3/4/5 as well as USB-C host devices.

👩🏻‍🎓 Like every other system, education is complex: teachers and district leaders shape educational roadmaps, while IT teams ensure pupils are supported with secure, reliable technologies. Device preparation, deployment, and ongoing management keep learning environments running smoothly.

Events like FETC - Future of Education Technology Conference equip teams with critical infrastructure and leadership systems that support teaching. While we didn't make it to the event this year, we recognise the value of initiatives of its growing community of visionary IT and education leaders committed to innovation and equitable access.

💬 At the event, discussions increasingly focus on cybersecurity, resource allocation, digital tools, and how those strategies depend on predictable hardware in 2026.

Device provisioning has become a mission-critical operation. Jamf’s annual education reports show that over 70% of US K–12 districts refresh or re-provision part of their fleet every year, and the number of devices continues to grow.

💻 IT teams must quickly provision devices, ensure the correct apps, profiles, and settings are applied consistently, reducing manual touchpoints through automation, and maintain reliability during the busiest weeks of the school year.

🔌 Reliable USB hubs enable education IT teams to charge, connect, and prepare multiple devices at once. We’ve created a practical guide with education-specific workflow and technical recommendations, designed to help K–12 and Higher Ed teams reduce provisioning time and automate repetitive tasks. 🔝 The Cambridge Cluster, one of the world’s most dynamic technology ecosystems, achieved remarkable momentum in 2025, with over $1.189 billion in venture capital raised across tech companies. We’re proud to be among these innovators.

Over the past year, our team has worked relentlessly to take device connectivity technology further, building solutions that help IT teams, QA labs, device deployment teams, and circular tech providers get more done with less friction.

🚀 In 2025, we sent our ThunderSync3-C10 to the International Space Station as part of the payload aboard NASA's SpaceX Commercial Resupply Mission. Then we launched our new, fastest and most intelligent hub to date, ThunderSync5-C16 PD, alongside our Connect Premium software and a comprehensive solution-based model. And later in the year, our two flagship hubs were officially listed on the Apple Education Online Store.

2025 was a record year for us: the biggest in our history, marked by milestones in performance, adoption, and global reach. We’ve scaled operations, supported customers in more countries than ever, and helped teams manage devices at scale with speed and reliability.

None of this happens in isolation. Our innovation thrives where great ideas, smart people, and collaboration come together. Especially people 🙌🏻

We’re continuing this journey in 2026, and it promises to be a good one.

👀 If you’re looking to improve how your team charges, connects, tests, or deploys devices at scale, we’d love to work with you. Explore our hubs on our website or get in touch with our team.

🙋‍♂️ Introducing a new content category, 'Ask our expert'. The first question goes to Partou, our Head of Product.

💬 How do you explain Cambrionix hubs to someone who’s never heard of them?

"A Cambrionix hub is way more than just a USB hub. It is built for tough environments where reliable power and rock-solid data connectivity are critical, especially when you need to connect, charge, and manage lots of devices at the same time. With up to 16 USB-C ports and Thunderbolt 5 technology, you get guaranteed data throughput, even at scale.

Our hubs are used by teams handling large numbers of phones, tablets, notebooks, and other USB devices. That includes test and validation labs, device deployment to staff and pupils, and restoration and refurbishment operations where devices are re imaged or prepared for resale. Reliability matters across all of these use cases because downtime means lost revenue, slower throughput, and missed deadlines.

In short, Cambrionix hubs are built to keep device operations moving. When teams are working at scale, they reduce disruption, improve throughput, and make it easier to manage large device fleets with confidence."

Today, we’re recognising the technologies whose evolution made device connectivity and our hubs possible. Among them are computers, cables and data transfer.

💻 The first programmable mechanical computer concept was invented in the 1830s. With no screen or keyboard, it was built around two core ideas: memory and arithmetic logic. More than a century later, the first programmable electronic digital computer, ENIAC the "Giant Brain", was built. It filled an entire room, required its own cooling system, and paved the way for the computers we use today.

🔌 The ENIAC relied on extensive internal wiring that served as early "computer cables" for power and data transfer within the machine. External cables were developed in the 1960s to connect computers to peripheral devices and enable basic data transfer. A major turning point came in 1996 with the introduction of USB, which standardised the connection.

Since then, USB has continued to evolve, combining data and power delivery. Thunderbolt technology took this a step further, enabling high-speed data, stable power, and consistent performance, even under heavy load.

⚡️ This evolution makes ThunderSync hubs possible today. Designed for high-load environments, the hubs enable the simultaneous connection of multiple devices with predictable, reliable performance.

🔗 ThunderSync hubs can daisy-chain up to six host computers and process up to 96 devices simultaneously. They can be managed remotely from a single interface, helping IT teams turn time-consuming manual tasks into minutes. Compact enough for a desktop or suitable for rack mounting, ThunderSync hubs support device deployment, device recycling, software testing operations, and more.
