Star IT are expanding its team and are looking for a Helpdesk IT Support Engineer to be based at our St Ives office. The position will be based within our IT Helpdesk, dealing with customer support requests via email and telephone utilising our remote access software. In addition to this, roles would also include Workshop repair of computers, maintenance to business networks & provision of new IT hardware.

The Engineer would be working closely with us having full support to develop skills in the industry.

In the nature of IT support day to day duties will vary and will be dependent on workload. i.e during quieter times the role may be based around maintenance & documentation & busier times be based around troubleshooting IT issues and preparing hardware to be provisioned onsite.

Duties/Responsibilities

· Dealing with customer support requests via email and telephone utilising remote access software

· Office 365 & Full Microsoft stack support

· Active Directory administration

· VoIP Telephone Systems

· Microsoft Services

· Network Maintenance

· Third party software support

· Workshop repair of Computers

· Business network maintenance

· Hardware preparation

· System integration – build system/s to client’s order spec

· Installation and setup of operating system if required

· Update newly integrated hardware to the latest firmware revisions

· Configuration of system settings as per client’s instructions

· On-site support including installation and troubleshooting of systems

Candidate Requirements

· Self Starter

· Non Linear Thinker

· A General interest in the I.T sector

· Good communication skills (Key)

· Good attention to detail

· Work effectively in a team

· Office Excel skills

· Fast learning ability and time management

· Some knowledge of Software would be beneficial but not crucial

· Previous experience in an IT helpdesk/support role
