The Illustrated Wisp

Hello there! I'm Jennifer, Illustrator, Designer & creator of The Illustrated wisp. I’m Jennifer- Illustrator & one girl band behind The Illustrated Wisp.

Where am I...

I’m based in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside- a beautiful place to live & a source of endless inspiration! (All my designs, no matter how random some may seem, all come from a part of my everyday life right here!)

Where did it all start? Well... from the moment I was old enough to pick up a pencil (or crayon!) But let’s fast forward...

I studied Graphic Design at Manchester school of art- and loved every second of it! It wasn’t until 3rd year that I started to play around with adding more illustrative elements to my work- which is really what reignited my passion for drawing! After finishing uni- I squirrelled away on building my own business & working on my designs in every spare minute I had, whilst working full time- that was always the dream- to have my very own business- my own studio- where I could work on my own designs. Pre Lockdown I was working from my little studio in Buxton, Derbyshire- but Lockdown changed things a little, and since March 2020 I have moved everything back home for now. (I’ve been loving looking out the window at my bee hive in the garden). And now, it’s 5 years since I became self employed as The Illustrated Wisp!! 5 whole years of living this wonderful dream of drawing for a living! (a lot of graft goes along with the day dreaming ...and giggling to myself whilst drawing new designs! BEST JOB EVER!)

And this is all thanks to each and every order of a card, commission of an illustration & each wonderful design project I have been lucky enough to receive from all of you wonderful people. Thank you so much! Thank you for taking the time to read a little more about my business. I hope you find something that makes you smile here. ✨ Something cute this way comes… ✨

Meet Boo! 👻🤍

The first of my new little wooden decorations, going live this Friday on my Etsy shop & website! ✨

He’s the sweetest little wooden ghost, finished with a pale blue velvet ribbon to hang him wherever you fancy! 🩵👻

And the best bit? This little ghost friend isn’t just for Halloween… he can hang around all year round! 🤍✨

✨ The Christmas mice are back! ✨

From my ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas collection 🐭🎄✨

From a Christmas cheeseboard party 🧀🎄✨🙌🏻 to mince pies, Christmas pud and a mistletoe kiss 🫶🏻 these little mice have got all the Christmas cheer covered! 🥰🎄✨

P.s. The cheeseboard card was definitely made for all the cheese fiends out there! We all know one 😁🧀🫶🏻

…And that includes me! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I think I love cheese more than mice do! 😁
