The most sustainable piece of technology is often the one that already exists.

When organisations think about sustainability, IT equipment isn't always the first thing that comes to mind. But every laptop, monitor and desktop requires raw materials, energy and resources to manufacture.

That's one of the reasons we're passionate about sourcing refurbished equipment wherever it makes sense.

By working with partners such as Nanosoft, we're helping charities, CICs and businesses give quality devices a second life rather than sending them for recycling before their time. This supports a more circular approach to technology while also helping organisations make their budgets go further.

Sustainability doesn't always require a major change. Sometimes it's as simple as choosing refurbished rather than new.

At BNA, we're proud to help organisations find technology solutions that are good for their people, their budgets, and the planet.

Better for the environment. Better for the budget. Better all round.

Feedback like this means the world to us.

When an issue threatens to disrupt your day, you need more than technical expertise. You need a team that understands your organisation, appreciates the impact the problem is having, and gets you back up and running as quickly as possible.

A huge thank you to Craig from C A Dyer Accounts & Bookkeeping for sharing his experience. We're grateful for the trust our clients place in us and proud to provide the responsive, personal support they're looking for.

For us, IT support isn't just about fixing problems. It's about understanding challenges, building relationships, and helping people get on with what they do best.

A little over a month ago, we launched our IT Helping Hand service, a completely free, one-off IT support offering for small charities & CICs, grassroots organisations, volunteer groups and start-ups that don't yet have an IT budget.

Since then, we've already had the opportunity to help a handful of fantastic organisations with a range of different challenges. Some needed technical guidance, and others just needed someone to point them in the right direction.

Seeing the difference even a small amount of support can make has only reinforced why we created the service in the first place.

There are so many brilliant organisations doing amazing work in our communities, but not all of them have the resources to access the IT help they need. Sometimes all that's required is a bit of advice, a fresh pair of eyes, or someone willing to give up an hour or two to help.

If you know a small charity, CIC, community group or volunteer-led organisation that could benefit from some free IT support, please tag them below.

We'd love to help a few more people.

"When cancer affects a family, the ripples are felt by everyone."

That's why we're delighted to be supporting Little Ripples through the IT Helping Hands initiative.

Little Ripples provides emotional wellbeing support for children and young people affected by cancer in their family or close community, helping ensure no child faces that journey alone.

We're proud to lend our technology expertise to help them continue their incredible work and extend their reach to even more families.

Here's to using technology for good and supporting a charity making a genuine difference every day!

We're delighted to be hosting a FREE Cyber Essentials & AI workshop with Get Set UK as part of the Good Health @ Work Programme.

Designed for Suffolk based businesses, charities and community organisations, the session will provide practical advice on cyber security, Cyber Essentials certification, and how AI can be used safely and effectively in the workplace.

Attendees from previous workshops have told us the sessions gave them the confidence to take the first steps on their Cyber Essentials journey and identify simple improvements they could make straight away to strengthen their security.

Spaces are limited, so please RSVP by 19th August.

If you know a business owner, charity, or community organisation that could benefit from this free training opportunity, please like, comment and share this post to help us spread the word.

The sign-up link can be found in the top comment below.

When a business changes IT provider, it's rarely because a server went down or because a technical problem wasn't solved.

More often than not, it's because they got tired of chasing for updates. Tired of explaining the same issue to different people. Tired of feeling like just another ticket in a queue.

Technology matters, of course. Any IT provider should be technically capable.

But what we've found over the years is that people remember the experience long after they've forgotten the technical details.

Do they feel listened to?

Do they feel valued?

Do they trust that someone genuinely cares about helping their business succeed?

The strongest relationships we've built with clients haven't come from fixing a major outage or delivering a big project. They've come from understanding their business, getting to know their team and simply being there when they need support.

IT is a people business.

The technology is important, but the relationships are what make the difference.

We're delighted to share that BNA IT Solutions is now a Partner Member of LINK, the compassionate business networking group at St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Supporting organisations that make a genuine difference in our communities has always been close to our hearts, and are proud to officially stand as part of a network of businesses that share those same values.

Over the years, we've had the privilege of working with many charities and purpose driven organisations across the region, and we're passionate about helping them thrive through reliable, relationship led IT support. Joining LINK gives us the opportunity to connect with like minded businesses, learn from one another, and support the vital work that St Nicholas Hospice Care does for local families.

A huge thank you to Lee and everyone at LINK for such a warm welcome! We're excited to get involved, build new relationships, and contribute to a community that is making a real impact across Suffolk.

We can't wait to attend the networking breakfast later this month!

Disappointing end-user support from Microsoft.

This response was sent by Microsoft Support to a Charity that had recently purchased a Non-Profit licence directly from Microsoft.

I understand what they're asking because I've worked with Microsoft 365 for years. But if this had landed in the inbox of a charity owner or trustee, there's a good chance it would have left them a bit lost...

The response presents the solution as simple, while leaving out key steps. It doesn't explain that using PowerShell for the first time requires setting up an Azure subscription and entering payment card details, something many charities would neither expect nor feel comfortable doing.

Technology should be accessible, especially for organisations focused on making a difference. Microsoft can, and should, do better.

The best IT support is the problem you never knew existed. Preventing disruption is always better than reacting to it.

From proactive monitoring and regular maintenance to cyber security and strategic advice, the goal isn't just to fix issues, it's to stop them happening in the first place.

How much disruption could your organisation avoid with a more proactive approach to IT?

Last Monday it was both a privilege and an honour to be in the room with so many dedicated and inspiring people from across the VCSE sector. Hearing the passion, ideas, and commitment to supporting our communities was truly motivating.

I'm excited to see where this initiative goes and the impact it can have across Suffolk and beyond. A huge thank you to Suffolk New College and the team behind it, for bringing everyone together and leading such an important piece of work. The future looks incredibly positive, and I'm looking forward to seeing what can be achieved together.
