I've found my most difficult website client...

It's me. 😂
Designing websites for other businesses is much easier. I ask questions, work out what they need and I make recommendations. They make the decisions and I build it.
Designing my own -
“Maybe that should move over there.”
“Actually, I preferred it where it was.”
“Is that grey too grey?”
“Actually I should completely rethink the homepage.”
“I'll just change this one little thing...(again!)”
Weeks later... it’s finally done.
It's much harder to make decisions about your own business. You're too close to it so everything seems important. Plus, it's easy to focus on what YOU like rather than what the person visiting the website needs.

Anyway, I'm glad my most demanding client has signed the website off. For now. 😂

I was designing websites for clients over 20 years ago. Does anyone remember what websites were like back then?

Low res images because we all had slow broadband connections (I was building websites when we had dial-up!)
Gradients everywhere
Glassy looking buttons
Background music you couldn't switch off
Little mouseover gif animations
Flash intro pages saying 'Enter here!'
Stuffed full of keywords for search engines (then changing them to the same colour as the background thinking Google wouldn't notice..)
Mobile-friendly? What's that?

Some of the websites I made were thought of as 'modern' back then 😂

Why did I redesign my website? Not because the old one was broken or just because I fancied making it look prettier (but I did want to give it a new light and clean design!)

My old website was over 10 years old and didn't really show off what I can do and who I work with anymore.

I've reconsidered the services, the wording, how I explain the way I work - and what someone might want to know (I've added lots of FAQs). I've also made it clear that it's me - Steph. Not a big marketing and web design agency (and why that can be a good thing!).

Which brings me on to looking at your own website. Does it represent your business today or the business you had when the website was built? If it's the latter, you don't always need to start again. Sometimes a rethink of the content, structure and messaging can make a big difference.

The new Belluber website is finally live! 🎉

I design websites for other businesses all the time, but doing my own was MUCH harder.

I've gone for a 'dashboard' type homepage and I've spent weeks on the whole site - changing my mind, tweaking layouts, rewriting things, changing them back again and being my own most difficult client 😂

Another website completed and launched this week!
Allied Health Professionals Suffolk needed a new website urgently when their current one had gone down and was not recoverable.

We created a new website with a modern, fresh design and lots of pages of information and advice.

AHPS is the NHS Physiotherapy provider for Suffolk. Self-refer, access expert advice and guides, and get rehabilitation to support your recovery and well-being.
