If you get an email asking you to change a supplier's bank details, don't act on it straight away - however official it looks, however urgent it sounds.

Pick up the phone and call the person on a number you already have on file, never one from the email itself, and ask them to confirm the change out loud.

It's been a year since Windows 10 support ended, so it's time for a check-in.

If you did nothing, every device still on Windows 10 has been running without security patches since last October, which means anything discovered since then is a live, unpatched risk, and it's also a gap that can put you outside your cyber insurance terms or Cyber Essentials compliance.

If you bought Extended Security Updates as a stopgap, year one is ending and year two costs roughly double.

Either way, the sensible move now is a proper look at what's running: which devices can take Windows 11 as they are, which need replacing, and a realistic timeline to get everyone off Windows 10 for good, rather than paying more each year to delay it further.
