⏰ Office 2021 support ends TOMORROW!

A final reminder that Microsoft will officially end support for Office 2021, Project 2021 and Visio 2021 on 13 October 2026.

While these applications will continue to work, they will no longer receive security updates or technical support - potentially leaving your business exposed to unnecessary security risks.

⏰ Still using Office 2021? There’s an important date coming up.

Microsoft support for Office 2021, Project 2021 and Visio 2021 ends on 13 October 2026.

The software won’t suddenly stop working - but after that date, it will no longer receive security updates or technical support. That can leave businesses with unnecessary security and compliance risks.

🚨 Fake IT support calls targeting Microsoft 365 users

Microsoft has warned of criminals calling or texting employees while pretending to be their IT support provider.

They may claim there’s an urgent problem with your Microsoft 365 account, MFA or passkey and ask you to approve a login, enter a device code or visit a fake Microsoft website.

If this happens:

❌ Never enter a device code following an unsolicited call or text.
📞 End the call and contact Conquered IT using our usual details.
⚠️ Report anything suspicious - even if you didn't share any information.

If in doubt, stop and check. That extra minute could prevent an account compromise.

👤 Quick question: who currently has access to your business systems?

People join. People leave. Roles change.

But user accounts and permissions don't always change with them.

Old or unnecessary accounts can easily be forgotten about, so it’s worth regularly reviewing who can access your systems, software and files - and whether they still need that access.

A little IT housekeeping can help reduce unnecessary security risks:

🔐 Remove accounts that are no longer required
🔐 Review permissions when somebody changes role
🔐 Make sure employees only have access to what they actually need

It’s a small job that can make a meaningful difference to your business security.

💾 You have a backup. Great. But when did you last check it actually works?

It’s easy to assume that because a backup system is in place, your data is protected.

But having a backup and having a backup you know you can rely on aren't necessarily the same thing.

Take a few minutes to check:

✔️ Your backups are running as expected
✔️ All your important files and data are included
✔️ You know how that information would be recovered if you needed it

Because the worst time to discover there’s a problem with your backup is when you actually need to restore something!
