Four myths down. This is the one that costs people the most in hindsight.

"All TMS platforms are basically the same" - until you're six months in and trying to get a workflow changed.

In a demo, every platform looks capable. The gaps appear when you need a workflow changed, a pallet network integrated, or a billing rule configured. Some platforms need a development ticket and three weeks for every minor change. Others let you do it yourself in minutes. Same demo. Very different reality.

Next up in our TMS myth-busting series: fleet size.

We hear this a lot from smaller operators: "a proper TMS is only worth it once you've got scale."

It's actually the opposite. The smaller the fleet, the less room there is to waste a mile. Inefficiency costs every fleet - but a smaller one feels it faster, and has less buffer to absorb it. A TMS that tightens planning and cuts wasted mileage pays back faster the tighter your margins already are.

The question isn't whether you're "big enough" for a TMS. It's whether you can afford not to have one.
